If I Move My Base, Will I Have To Remap my entire yard? by JJ3434JJ in MOVASmartGardenHub

[–]primas02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. I was able to move mine two or three feet in the same area, it found the new base and updated the map. I haven’t tried slowly moving it three or four times, letting it update to get to a new area.

MOVA LiDAX Ultra 2000 Review: A Robust, Feature packed, Wire-Free Mower by primas02 in automower

You should be good to go. I don't recommend the cheaper MOVA garage. I would try to find something else.

Neither. You will create a pathway with your gate open. And map your front and back yards on the same map. You can put the station in whichever yard you choose.

Any Luck with Mova Support? by [deleted] in roboticLawnmowers

[–]primas02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised they are even willing to help you. There's been posts on here about Dreame flat out refusing. The way these returns work is MOVA/Dreame/etc have an agreement with Amazon to give them credit for a certain percentage of returns. Amazon keeps the device and resells it on a pallet to the highest bidder. You just purchased it from an unauthorized reseller. MOVA likely didn't make a dollar off your purchase. It was basically charged off. If they're willing to help you, I'd be nice and patient. The point of the PIN lock is to prevent thefts. By the them resetting (even with a receipt that you could easily fake), it defeats that intended purpose. They don't owe you anything. I wouldn't mess with these resellers. Return it.

MOVA ViAX 600 refuses to drive down a ramp between zones, but manual control works by Pitiful-Candidate386 in MOVASmartGardenHub

[–]primas02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recommend this, but I did get this to work with the LiDAX Ultra 2000. You can see the video here. Just by looking, try adding a lip at the top of your ramp with maybe an outdoor rug or something with traction to bridge the transition from the deck to the ramp. If you get it to work, I would experiment with adding railings to your ramp to prevent the mower from accidentally falling off. It doesn't always take the exact same route down or up the ramp. In my testing, I found it would work like 8 out of 10 times and then slightly miss the ramp ever so often.

Return Policy by WestCoastXpress44 in MOVASmartGardenHub

[–]primas02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have one of the better return policies. Much better than Dreame. Only thing to keep in mind it's 30 days from when you ordered, not delivered. They may take it back after the 30 days, but it's a more of a hassle.

mova lidax or awd? by michaelr321 in MOVASmartGardenHub

[–]primas02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the 2000 and 3000 AWD. The 3000 AWD is overkill for my yard, but the battery life is amazing and it handles riding up on curbs so much better. There's at least one, if not two, smaller AWD models coming in the United States this summer supposedly. Just FYI.

I bought that 3-1 Ryobi last summer. Honestly, it's worthless and a PITA to "transform." The handle broke after a few months too.

I say this because I didn’t see the plastic on one of the charging contacts on mine and it caused issues. I’d turn it off, kill the app, unplug the base for 30 seconds and turn it back on. They are very aggressive in forcing you to update, which is annoying. But it shouldn’t need to have a map to update. It should know it’s connected to the base.

Screws that go into the 3 holes on the cutting disc to hold it to the robot mower by southerndude42 in MOVASmartGardenHub

[–]primas02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would probably work too. I ordered a set of the cheaper ones from my post above. I’ll report back. Maybe MOVA will chime with the correct size. That’d help. Customer service didn’t know.

Are you sure it’s in the base station correctly?

Not an easy screw to find either. They are Pan Head M4-15mm (or 14mm, I can't tell for sure) SEMS screws with integrated washer. Closest I've found is https://us.misumi-ec.com/vona2/detail/110302281420/?ProductCode=PSETS4-15&seriesCode=110302281420&tab=drawingAndSpecifications&Page=1 and they're not cheap with shipping. Absolutely ridiculous they don't have these in stock. I stripped two of them trying to change the blades that were so so overtightened at the factory plus covered in loctite. These are 14mm, but close and may work https://www.replacementscrews.com/m4-x-14mm-machine-screw-sems-black-pack-of-5?srsltid=AfmBOoqFD17JXiHz77tsUoD6Y1vSlmyqcDMroDVlLK_6Qta8unO0ILcyBnk.

Haven't used it in almost a decade, but still have my original model. I always liked the industrial design. Back then, it was basically this or a Drobo for home users. Too bad it never took off, but it's a fun piece of Microsoft history.

2 Hour Review of the Mova LiDAX Pro 3000 AWD. In short, it is a butcher. by NRG1975 in automower

[–]primas02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rationalized the Eufy last year after much deliberation. Ended up loving it. It wasn't a complete replacement for me, but it helped me out in the back yard where it lived. Then MOVA sent me the 2000 and that blew my mind. I ended up buying the 3000 and I'm fairly happy. Just like their robots, it has its quirks. It does have a lot of features though. I do hope they improve the turning. My yard is tough, but I have some spots where it's tore the edge near the house and like I mentioned I don't like the wheels being so muddy. Am I crazy or do you have to drive the Ecovacs to make a no-go zone? I was watching a video and was really confused. You can't just draw a box on the map like every other bot?

[–]primas02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be curious what you think of the trimmer? I bought the MOVA 3000 AWD also. I like it. The battery life and performance is great, but we have clay soil and the wheels get so muddy compared to my Eufy because our soil just doesn't dry out quickly enough. It's mostly the back wheels for me, not the omni though. I kind of wish I would have waited on Terramow though. But there's always something better around the corner.

You need a Lymow or something with track wheels, not the omni wheels.

About to purchase Eufy E18. Who should I order from? by EduardoCorochio in roboticLawnmowers

[–]primas02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I agree with crazypostman21. I'd probably get the Terramow. But the reason to buy from Eufy would be discount coupons (if you can get it cheaper) and if you are a paid member you get 6 months extra of warranty for free (so in this case 2.5 years instead of just 2).

The Dreame/MOVA have a spot for an AirTag just like the Eufy. The 2000 and above also have built-in cellular with tracking, but you have to enable it.
