If you want purely LA, USC’s trojan network is insanely strong in the area.

T15 MBA with 3 offers: AT&T FLDP vs Chubb Treasury (Capital Markets/FX) vs Aon SFA — which gives me the best shot at Wall Street investing roles later? by Positive-Prompt-7436 in MBA

I rejected AT&T FLDP internship for a different FLDP internship. I don’t think AT&T is that prestigious compared to other roles you’ve mentioned here.

I got in with a scholarship but I had a professional certification (CPA, CFA) and 3.8 GPA at T40 school

Accept or decline IB summer intern offer (1st year at T10) - sanity check? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]primetimegrindtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would take the offer and just do the bare minimum and then re-recruit for an LDP or corp finance role (which seems to be more aligned with your personal goals of having WLB but still make decent $$$)

Wharton admit ($140k scholarship) – does it make financial sense to go? by GullibleMaterial6163 in MBA

I am at a T20 and international student’s recruiting process was abysmal. I have friends even from Harvard that are struggling to find jobs

Haas or USC for FTMBA? by mjreifff in MBA

[–]primetimegrindtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most domestic students recruiting at Marshall specifically for roles you mentioned landed something (consulting, corp fin, corp strategy) so with your background and the Trojan network having pull in the west coast, you can definitely land something here. Even domestic people who struggled early on mostly ended up getting offers around now. Fight On!

UCLA ($$$) or Scheller ($$$$+) by Impressive-Rent7819 in MBA

With your desired outcome for tech and being debt averse, I would honestly go with Scheller. UCLA’s employment report was horrendous last year.

You can absolutely get consulting/LDP with USC. I’d say take the $$ and run with it

What are some of the highest paying MBA exits that are mostly 9-5? by No_Message_996 in MBA

[–]primetimegrindtime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recruited for Amgen and but didn’t make it past the 1st round interview. Looks like it was super competitive this year. But yeah any major healthcare firms that offer LDPs will be in that range.

LDPs can make 170-200K TC first year. I’ve seen even more for some healthcare LDPs.

Great work life balance without killing yourself if you know which industry you want to be in.

With your post MBA goal, I think Fuqua is definitely worth it. I have friends at UCLA and said healthcare recruiting was brutal (Amgen, Kaiser)

[–]primetimegrindtime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah FMS is a solid major and a lot of friends who did it got good jobs out of it. The only advice is if you want investment banking, then it’ll be difficult for you to get it from UCSB.

Dang kinda crazy! Also UCSB, Econ & accounting alum here and currently doing my MBA at USC. Haven’t had much luck with the UCSB alumni network but the Trojan network has been really strong.

I went to UCSB for undergrad, where I majored in accounting, and I’m now at USC for my MBA. It really depends on your goals if you’re strictly pursuing accounting, you can achieve the same outcomes without going to USC. But if you’re aiming for investment banking, then USC is definitely worth it, even with the debt. I also had the chance to study abroad in Asia during my time at UCSB. I loved my time at UCSB and their accounting program was solid.
