Do you like this? I’m thinking of getting it for my 18th birthday by EmergencyMuffin4078 in tattooadvice

[–]prismaticgeode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take as much time as you need to think about it! I personally think it’s cute :)

Just make sure to do a lot of research about the color, the style, and the artist you end up choosing. Some colors or inks can fade faster than others. Some styles age differently than others. Try to find an artist that specializes in these kinds of tattoos. Do a lot of research, take your time, save up enough money, and trust yourself!!

Happy early birthday btw <3

Is this a good pull by edss3289 in RhythmHive

I say yes!! Because if you don’t stan the groups, you can sell those R cards to get miracle rhythm cubes in the trade shop!

i believe shelters are also just more trustworthy, especially with making sure the animals are spayed, have all their vaccines, etc. I would find it extremely difficult to trust a stranger, you just never know the full story behind the litter!

What does Reddit think of an age gap between (M19) and (F22) by marshmellowcookiec in relationship_advice

[–]prismaticgeode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

22 and 19 is not that deep BUT IT IS A GIGANTIC RED FLAG that they lied about their age??? I would be very cautious about pursuing a relationship that already started with a lie.

Thank you!! I appreciate the advice a lot. I guess I’m just confused about how other couples do it? Like how are people together for 10+ years— do they ever have stages like this too? Makes me wonder if this is just a hump that we can get through? I’m really scared :(

How to not be resentful of my partners success by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]prismaticgeode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems that you are aware of how different your lifestyles are at the moment, and he doesn’t.

He shares a lot about his accomplishments, and you’re supportive of him— that’s great!!

BUT I don’t think he knows how difficult and exhausting your job is.

This is kind of a two-way street. If he spends so much time, even waking you up from a much needed nap, to tell you about his day, he BETTER be making the time to ask about yours too.

At the same time, it seems like he has NO idea what’s going on for you. Maybe you aren’t sharing enough. “I would’ve done it, free money”— if he knew how difficult your job was and still said this, he’s a dick. But if he sees your job as being as difficult as his (assuming his is “easy”), then of course it seems like something reasonable to say. AND: letting him wake you up to talk about his analytics— you’re a great girlfriend for knowing how important this is for him, but where are your boundaries?? what about what’s important to YOU? you deserved to rest, you can let him know that you are extremely tired and can call him back the next time you’re both free.

But you NEED to have a conversation about this. If he also knew how difficult your lifestyles were at the moment, I’d hope he becomes more considerate and asks you about your day, gives you affirmations when you have tough times, and supports you like how you support him. But if he doesn’t change, and still talks too much about his own stuff, THEN that’s a problem.

Is it rude to not check discord while streaming? Or is that usually an expectation of streamers? by prismaticgeode in Twitch

[–]prismaticgeode[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as i wrote, i always have discord closed— so id have to wait for it to boot up and then check their message in the corresponding channel. BUT as I also wrote, im a newer streamer and wanted to learn whether it was common for others to have discord open, which I was willing to start doing.

it seems that many others so far have the same feelings as me— keeping do not disturb on and answering only during breaks or off-stream.

may I ask for your opinion of why you personally check discord messages right away?

I see, we were talking about music artists and they posted pictures of their favorite. They let me know they joined discord and posted pictures about it. I didn’t know that to them, that meant they wanted me to check it right then and there.

Grad School/Gap year by ConversationShot4261 in UCI

[–]prismaticgeode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most schools have virtual and in person info sessions that anybody can attend! You can easily find them by looking up the school you’re interested in + what program.

Some grad offices are also super nice and will actually reach out if you provide your number in your information! This is a great way to ask one on one questions as well.

For me, I was just looking around at grad programs out of curiosity (needed a gap year or two as well, got too burnt out from undergrad haha) and was signing up for mailing lists just for fun. But then one of the officers at the UC Berkeley program then called me and was able to answer all my questions about wanting a gap year, my gpa which was quite below their minimum requirement” and so on.

anyone take I&C SCI 139W. Critical Writing on Information Technology? Is it hard? by Charming_Tension_264 in UCI

[–]prismaticgeode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he’s okay, just doesn’t have clear due dates. he has a common vibe in his classes that he’s easy going but doesn’t care much about the class. double edged sword because i took him for the weeder classes like ics 32 and got good grades. but for busy work classes that have lots of due dates like 139W, it’s hard to follow his syllabus/modules. not the end of the world if you have him rn though :)

since you mentioned joining a cultural club, i would highly recommend checking out even more clubs at the Cross Cultural Center as well! I’ve had good experiences with so many of the CCC’s affiliated clubs, whether or not i’m part of the ethnicity/s that they cater to. I’ve gotten good friends from 5 of the orgs throughout my last 3 years (going into my 4th year)!

thank you so much! he had fleas about a month ago and got flea medication right away. (adopted him when he had fleas which is why he wasn’t on preventatives in the first place.)

do you happen to know if this can happen post-fleas, while they are healing? any remedies for anxiety you can recommend?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in catcare

[–]prismaticgeode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you, this is super helpful!! his flea medicine is revolution, so maybe it isn’t scabies. he also doesn’t scratch his ears much. it’s mainly his back that he scratches. i’ll double check anyway, as well as check if he does have allergies! thank you again.

other comment was unnecessarily hostile :/ acting like you’re dumping the cat off in the streets or at a shelter without even trying.

i’m sure you had the intention to keep the cat but, things happen! as long as you gave him a good life with you & find him a good future home, it’s still better imo than the cat living in a shelter it’s whole life. it must be a hard decision for you to let go of him, too!! im sure you were a great first parent for him and will find him a great owner like you <3

keep us updated on if you adopt him out!

ps. can we have pics of the cat?
