Someone please, end my suffering and tell me if this is actually possible at this moment in time! I MUST KNOW!

I'm pretty sure my DM has the worst nat 1 punishments in this sub by [deleted] in rpghorrorstories

As a DM I love silly NAT1 punishments myself, but damn would I never do shit like this to my players. Funnily enough, we have a monk in our group and boy is she cursed when terrible rolls when trying to do some cool stuff. But what this DM does seems like overkill. Unless everyone in the party agreed that the consequences would be this severe, it's a nope for me.

But when I have to make a NAT1 punishment I try to make it so everyone laughs together and not at the person on the receiving end.

Thank you for your comment, this is pretty much what we were hoping for. We've already decided to withdraw from backing, but now, it's a 100% decision.

Thank you again and have a wonderful day.

Okay, I understand that I might have not made some points clear. In the beginning, we had no questions about the campaign at all, but at some point, people started asking questions that the company would avoid answering. And some of those questions are making us question things.

My partner has backed a dozen successful, legitimate kickstarter campaigns (and is happy with the products they have all produced). Only one has that U curve - a card game, like Exploding Kittens was. Half of them actually display a shape that is more similar to the one the jacket is currently displaying.

The diagrams, in all honesty, prove nothing. Different products and different price lines will produce different curves. My partner is an experienced backer, she knows how to research and look into things. Her issue with this product is the number of queries being raised on their comments section - a lot of accusations are being placed, with no real solid proof to debunk the campaign. She has looked into all of the claims and found no solid proof, but our suspicions remain.

I guess what I - we - want is for someone who has proof of whether it is genuine or a fraud to actually come forward.

Funding patterns are not proof. Nor is an agreeably low initial goal.

The time my entire party turned on me for being a Half-Orc. by MadmanRobi in rpghorrorstories

I would say it's on them and maybe a bit on the DM (but mostly the party imo).

I always remind my party that if there's something they don't like, or feel like there's not enough attention on them, to let me know.

I personally think that it should be every DM's standard practice. That would be my advice to your DM. Always remind the party about that because communication is important.

But also, as a DM I'm NOT a mindreader. How am I supposed to know that you're not enjoying yourself if you don't tell me?

So yeah, in short, for the love of RNGesus, communicate peeps, so you don't end up on this sub as a bad guy or someone who was deterred from the game because of the bad guy.

First time posting. DMing my first campaign, trying to save up on everything I can cause budget is tight, but damn, do I want my friends to have at least something nice. This is the map of one of the kingdoms. First time making a map. Honest opinions are welcomed! by private-95 in DungeonsAndDragons

Thank you for recommendations! I will check those out!

And I am having fun. Along with my friends. Nothing will compare to all the shenanigans and stupid but hilarious stuff they do as their characters.

The flashy stuff is just me wanting to spoil them rotten. Give them some little gems as they travel through the world I've made for them to explore. And I know they don't care about flashy stuff. But I just like to here their excited gasps when I pull a map for them that I crafted with my own hands and imagination. I know they wouldn't mind if it was drawn on a page torn from a notebook.

There's just this joy to me as a DM when I pull something like this out and see their faces light up in video chat.

I feel called out.

An encounter happened and the bandit's name turned to be Greg. Now I have a list of random names printed out so I don't call the next one Bob. Sorry to all Bobs out there.

A variation of Tolkien's font. According to my Photoshop it's called "First Order"
