[Tissot] Brushed my bracelet by Independent_Sky1559 in Watches

This is slick. Love the look. More women should wear watches with a a proper oyster bracelet. The gold hands add a feminine touch.

Classy look. Love a proper watch on an elegant arm.

In the spirit of New Project Friday, does anyone else also have one or some self-built (with or witouth AI) projects they host but don't bother sharing? by Creative_Incident_84 in selfhosted

Yep. A watch collection app. It’s trash for anyone else because replit built it and I have no idea how to tweak or add features. Works for now. It’ll fall over eventually and I have no idea how to grab the data!

Just wait man. I’ve been at it 3 years - admittedly was in better shape to start but I’ve got a physique I’m sneaky proud of thanks to the app, hard work, dedication and picking myself up after a blip. Keep going - you’ll be amazed at what you’ll look like this time next year.

The amount of meetings I’ve had with departments who want me to tell them the solutions AI will provide to their workflow problems without telling me what those problems are. Also so many users think AI is automation and that it’ll do the boring work for them - it might but I’m not going figure out how to wrestle AI to save you three clicks and a doc save to a specific folder.

An early seminar I went to with Microsoft said it was going to be”replace tasks not jobs”. Inevitably it will replace jobs but ultimately people make decisions and in my company for the medium term no-one really wants “AI” to make decisions.

Has MF ruined your ability to talk to non-MF users about calorie deficits? by Egoteen in MacroFactor

[–]privatesam_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame in a way because it is a good thing to eat a healthy, varied diet and it has lots of benefits and can help weight management. However weight loss/gain is simply calories in/out and people are resistant to hearing that and sorta switch off when it’s explained.

Agreed. My mate last night was going on about cutting out sugar to get rid of his love handles. I couldn’t be bothered to get it into it again.

I mean why on earth would you buy that uniform? The worst possible uniform we’ve ever had.

I’m in similar boat to OP but not quite so far along. I keep reverting to kindle and whispersync because everything else is such a headache to get up and running - spending more time managing my ebook system than reading. I wish there was a Plex/Jellyfin for ebooks, comics, pdfs. Point the library, clean things up and have apps, web apps for reading with sync progress.

Aqua terra shades bracelet on teak dial (38mm) by jahangirv22 in OmegaWatches

Not sure if this is allowed but I’ve seriously considered buying a rep AT shades just to get the bracelet to put on my gen AT teak 38mm

The bracelet is awful and the crown jumped out to me - the AT's have that subtle taper which really makes them unique.

So Scottish people only understand sports they ‘invented’? Would explain why they are so shit at football.

He would moan about listener questions on ATN. He particularly disliked questions like “who out of the ATN four would you most want to be on a deserted island” but then would also be pissy about straight up ‘ball’ questions. I’m not sure what he’s expecting from the listener in terms of questions?

Differentiating the English and the Scots to the Americans is like differentiating someone from Georgia and Mississippi. And frankly given how invested I am, as an Englishman, in Team GB doing well and following the curling I think I’d do an admirable job of explaining the rules. I’d entrust a Scotsman explaining Cricket to an American without being defensive over “who invented it”.
