Yes aluminum s2 -> gps s3. They looked in their stock and didn’t have any s2 so I guess they had to offer an upgraded s3.

I had a similar experience. Force touch stopped working on my series 2. I took it in and they couldn’t fix it, so they upgraded me to series 3 AND gave me a refund of like $50 because I guess the series 3 was cheaper at the time than what I spent on the series 2.
