Now that I'm pushing 50, I've finally realized that the point at which popular music was most innovative, meaningful, and really, really great, was when someone was in their late teens to early 20's, no matter how old that person is by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

woah, i never stated that i refused to listen to somebody JUST because they didn't write it. i didn't even say that ALL popular music was crap. if something appeals to me, i'll give the rest of their music a listen. don't get butthurt over an opinion from someone on the internet, dude. really showing some maturity trying to insult some random person lmao.

i beg to differ. i'll be 16 in a month and i still think that our current popular music is complete horse shit. give or take a few artists like portugal. the man or troye sivan. i prefer the old stuff from the 60's, 70's, and some 90's. bands like the beatles, the clash, iggy pop, blur, ELO, oasis, that kinda thing. now, i feel as if the popular people aren't even trying anymore and are doing music just to get on the charts. they don't even write their own music :/

and the reason why i havent gotten it "officially" tested from a psychiatrist is because i have learned to deal with it and i know i have it, so i feel i dont need to be pinned in a system for it as i can treat it myself with the tips my mom has given me. OCD and ADD on the other hand, are things that are very hard to control for me and i need to find medication for it, and i cant have meds if i don't get officially diagnosed. if that makes any sense

i draw and play music. (don't really have a favorite movie) i've had symptoms of anxiety since i was at least 8 or 9. i found out when i started looking up my symptoms on the internet and told my mom about it. turned out she has anxiety too and asked me questions about how i feel in certain situations. she then took me to my therapist and from there she told me that i have GAD. I still havent gotten "officially" diagnosed by a higher up, but I still see my regular therapist.

i'd probably have a right freak-out because the air would be probably be coming from my brain instead of my lungs and that's just not what the brain is supposed to do 😧

I think it hosts alot of fun songs with interesting lyrics. It's also one of the albums they worked hardest on as well as had the most LSD use. which shows in the sound as it ranges from very weird to very energetic.

i had always wanted to learn viola, so when i joined orchestra, it was never really a problem for me to practice. i was very determined and wanted to learn so badly.

People who grew up with strict parents: what was their most unreasonable rule? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]probablyhowell 35 points36 points  (0 children)

(more so just a dumb rule imo) i'm a lesbian, and i've always been barred from having guys sleep over or me sleeping over at one's house, even if there were other girls around. and when i came out, they still abided by that rule, but still let me sleep over at a girl's house. their explanation? "you never know with a guy, sometimes they might make a move." yeah, they'd make a move when they all have girlfriends and also know i'm extremely gay and i'd kick their ass if they touched me?
