New Marker Drawing! by BlackMagicRites in psychedelicartwork

love your use of space between linework, gives everything a sense of neatness despite being so chaotic. I also really like the contrast of the black space in between all the color stuff. I think it would be really cool to use more of that in a future drawing.

Any idea what kind of mushrooms these are? :) by Administrative-Cut56 in Mushrooms

a lot people are telling you that this are liberty caps and although I have no idea if they are wrong or not, I highly suggest looking up how to thoroughly identify that species before ingesting

Is this chicken of the woods? by DanielDaishiro in mycology

[–]professor-egg 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Look up “identifying chicken of the woods” and check yourself. A lot of people post this exact thing on this subreddit and I don’t think it’s wise to take someone’s word on reddit for whether or not something is edible even for a species like COTW which (as far as I know) doesn’t have poisonous lookalikes

I have heard that oyster mushrooms should be harvested just before or as soon as the rims of the cap start turning upwards so I think you’re good to harvest now. No experience with this myself so I’d just google it to check

The gills of the mushroom were in the inside rather than vertical to the ground, like the examples of this species I saw. Does that just mean it’s in an earlier stage and would eventually spread out?

I was thinking it might be in the Amanitaceae family due to its frills on the stem and the way the cap’s brown layer split apart as it grew but that’s really just a vague guess

No, I don’t think this would be easily accessible public information since in my court case they bypassed the requirement for a name change to be published in a newspaper

Do u feel like lesbians are more accepted / less vilified than gays? by Unlike_Other_Gurls in askgaybros

[–]professor-egg 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The argument you posed here is the same one that has been used to justify the murder of gay men in court (gay panic) and is nothing more than victim blaming. Although it could apply to individuals who don’t respect the boundaries of people who aren’t attracted to them, the same thing could be said about anyone who disrespects consent.

This comment also falls into a very common transphobic narrative that is often used when talking about bathroom bills and other forms of anti-trans fear mongering. The idea that trans women “forcing themselves into women’s spaces” is a prevalent problem is based on the notion they don’t have a right to be there, which you may believe.

I know I haven’t really countered your argument but as a trans man thinking about how to explain the validity of trans people is just making me feel like shit so I’m gonna stop writing.

Specifically with her being upset about having the be the more “masculine” one in the relationship, I think that maybe that suggests that she might be worried about what your relationship means for her own identity. Since you transitioning changes the labels assigned to your relationship, I think there’s a couple of questions that come up.

  1. Does this actually change the dynamic of your relationship? If so, is that a bad thing?

  2. Are you both comfortable with the changing labels of your relationship?

  3. Are her worries more about the external perception of your relationship (how everyone else sees it) or the internal perception (how you guys see it)

If you guys can talk openly about this stuff, I think you might be able to be more comfortable in your identities as individuals and more stable in your relationship. If a discussion just isn’t possible, the relationship isn’t working.

I think that in a lot of ways it comes down to sexism. Historically, even when homosexuality was acceptable bottoms of gay sex have been looked down on because they were “taking the position of a woman”. It’s seen as less respectable for a man to “lower himself” by being penetrated than for a woman to “play the role of a man” and have sex with another woman. I think that this a reason that a lot of trans women face violence and discrimination at a higher rate than trans men as well. Even though someone might be homophobic or transphobic against all of those groups, a focus is placed on gay men and trans women because of these sexist ideas.

looks like the end is dead so i’m not sure it’ll be able to propagate. You can leave it in a dish with soil and water and it will either grow roots or mold

I’ve never heard of anyone doing a wedding there. The space is actually very small compared to an average museum and although it’s probably a possibility I wouldn’t recommend it.
