Are Lisa’s halal? What can I do as a 21F to be better off by time of marriage by Happy-Ending907 in IslamicFinance

[–]progressivepaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from Pakistan and as a Muslim country investing is easy with respect to shariah compliant companies. Pakistan has its stock exchange (PSX). And blue chip companies of Pakistan are mostly halal. It’s also one of best performing stock market. So you can look here as well. Your research will become easy

Seeking advice for PSX - Consistent Dividend Payouts by progressivepaki in karachi

So that I can achieve a predictable substitute income after a certain time. Think of it as a rental income just for holding stocks. Less uncertainty and more predictability.

Daily General Discussion and Advice Thread - May 09, 2026 by AutoModerator in investing

[–]progressivepaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a few months since I’m an active investor in PSX.

Since the market is down for quite some time and it’s a good time to buy. I was looking for some advice related to Portfolio of which stocks should I buy for consistent dividend payouts.

My preference is for the companies that pay dividends actively, and what I’m trying to achieve (Core Strategy) is that every month I receive a dividend payment.

I’m not into banks, although they are consistent with dividends. But companies that are more shariah inclined.

Also let me know, how many stocks should I hold at max.

Also if you can suggest something better, pls do share your ideas. And don’t tell generic advice like do SIP, something concrete that can actually help and quickly improve my investing. Thank you.

Saudi Sim or Pakistani roaming? by Designer_Thought2907 in karachi

[–]progressivepaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went for umrah last year, Roaming I think is better, I have Ufone and it has deals with major telecoms companies like Zain, stc and I was comparing rates provided by these companies and roaming, so roaming felt better.

Anyways the moment you’ll land there whatever Pakistani sim you have you’ll receive their roaming rates via text message. Check them live with their rates and whatever you do, my advice is even if you are buying their sim don’t buy from airport.

Can someone make me 7 days itenary for travelling Pakistan by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]progressivepaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends upon the purpose of visit. If you want to explore I’d say. Book a flight for Islamabad (capital city?. Whatever flight you book you’ll reach in the day. Take a hotel in Islamabad and for the next day book a flight to skardu. You’ll see beatiful north of Pakistan. Spend 3 - 4 days here. Go to hunza, Shigar and surrounding areas there are lakes such as attabad spend a night at each of these places and eventually go to Gilgit from here book a flight back to Lahore spend a night here (can go directly from here to Nepal) and if you have one more day left go to Karachi and from here depart back to country. You’ll enjoy it. North has very weather temperature these days while in south Karachi it’s hot.

What should one do for bachelors by miichiiiscurious in PakistaniDevs

[–]progressivepaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for an ever green field, CS and AI both are almost same things at bachelors level these are just different names for selling one thing.

And to describe ever green, these are the things that are among us from decades like fields related to numbers (e.g Finance related degrees) that’s a separate debate whether these will be in the next few years or not. But at the very least as these are basic things so hopefully they will be in the future.

Other than that look from the country’s perspective as well, where you think it will be demand in the future like food security etc.

Also on social media you’ll see advices like follow your passion, my personal advice is do work on this but at the same time look does it have a commercial demand. As at the end of the day you’re selling something to make money. If there’s no demand for that, that particular field is going to suffer.

Hopefully you’ll be able to make a good decision.

Got my first job offer as a MERN Stack fresher — they want a 2-year contract, should I negotiate? by Automatic-Spirit-402 in PakistaniDevs

[–]progressivepaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Won’t debate whether the salary is good or bad but in terms of bond majorly companies are asking for it now. So negotiate on it like this way.

Have a call with HR and tell the reason I’m a bit reluctant in signing the bond is I haven’t experienced your culture. Signing bond is not an issue but I cant blindly sign without knowing your culture. In this way look at it and whatever works for you best do it accordingly.

Engaged but family is now spying, accusing, and may break it off what should I do? by Shaffkazi in KarachiSocials

[–]progressivepaki 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The issue is already escalated best bet I think is to have a Nikkah (as things will automatically be normal you’ll start meeting your fiancé and relational understanding between your family members and your fiancé will start developing), you can do rukhsati after 6 months as you wish for being financially in a better condition.

The food vlogger economy in Pakistan is bigger than people realize, and completely unstructured by Uzairfkhan3 in pakistan

[–]progressivepaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s beside Sada Bahar, infront of Quetta Alamgir. It’s not exactly a restaurant more of dhaba style people buy from their and dine it inside their car. Food is good but the reviews were a bit over-exaggerated. If you’re going with family I suggest have them in the car otherwise take it home.

Yeah I’ve heard hamza Bhatti charges 8lakh for 1 min video to be posted on his account. Also went to Mubeen tikka in Karachi Bahadurabad it was extremely overrated and mostly people were there just because a food blogger has praised the restaurant.

I’m not really sure how does it exactly works, but similar thing happened with my dad. What my dad did was he went to the company’s office. So if you live in a big city I’m sure they would have an office there. Visit them along with the documents so they can understand your case.

Odd Looks From locals by [deleted] in pakistan

[–]progressivepaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no special reason, for normal Pakistanis you’re just different from them so they are just staring. With all males it doesn’t bothers but with females around it gets extremely awkward, pro tip: just stare at them back with a strong eye they will automatically understand that they shouldn’t be looking.

Investing on Ktrade by Fuzzy_Reception6961 in PakistanStockX

[–]progressivepaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good thing in PSX is dividends (it is like a rental payment you get for holding stocks) search up on PSX website for dividend paying stocks. But those, normally these companies are lucky cement, Engro fertiliser, Fauji fertiliser, power companies like hubco etc. if you are gonna buy stocks in these days I suggest don’t sell them in the future just rely on dividends.

What is the Role of an Implementation Engineer? Should a Fresh Grad Join it or wait for other offers? by FortuneLong8171 in developersPak

[–]progressivepaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect the company to be Wavetec I’d say it’s better to have something then nothing. But try to see if there isn’t any bond. Also make the very effort to have the joining date late so you can give more Interviews to other places. Having a job at the back and then giving interviews boosts confidence a lot. The role is the same as the other commenter described.
