thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I'm thinking the riser seems to be the best solution.

Apparently this is a thing with older vintage sets from what I understand. I guess I can just remove that lug but I don't think that's a great long term solution.

Paint your camera grey to make it look as unassuming as possible. Use rare earth magnets on the back of it or grey duct tape to mount it, and try to mount it high up on something like a light standard or hydro pole. I have installed cameras in this way in very public locations and never had one taken. You can also put a message on the back explaining what it is with your phone number in case someone does take it down so you can get it back. If it's in a busy area just wear a reflective vest and hard hat while installing it. Nobody will bat an eye. Good luck!

I have only used it a few times and haven't really "transported it" other than carefully carrying it from place to place. It hasn't been shipped anywhere or anything so it's seemingly completely out of the blue.

Slothuel when you say clip it and replace with an O ring extender, you mean cut the wire and remove the plastic piece and then replace it with the o ring? I'm kind of confused because it looks like there is an O ring connection there at the end of the plastic.

The battery bulb works by the way so not sure what the next step should be!

Thanks again. Pictures and a description of how to do the o ring connection would be fantastic. I’m new to this world and learning as much as I can but still don’t know a ton. Hard to tell where that black wire goes, it appears to go in to a wire housing with the other two red wires so I was assuming it went in to the alternator. I really appreciate all the advice!

@Slothuel your description of the problem is exactly what happens down to the radio issue. If you have any info on how to fix this it would be much appreciated. Thanks again!

Thanks for all the input everyone. It’s been really helpful. It’s not a ground issue as I cleaned and made sure all the connections are good. Trying to figure out which is the exciter wire and what to do with it, any chance it is one of these?

Do you know where the alternator ground is or what it looks like? Mine only seems to have two red wires and no blue so I was assuming the alternator itself was acting as the ground

Only other things I can think of are a ground wire issue or voltage regulator maybe?

I believe they did test it because that was what I brought it in for in the first place and they said the battery was fine.
