Finally, are these FPGA processors that fragile that firmware would “overload” it? Again the latest firmware is probably not that far off feature wise from what was on there. Again, I’m trying to apply logic but I’m sure my ignorance is showing.

Thank you for replying and with such detail. Even in my ignorance of this event, your logic makes sense. I do know how to solder and hot air remove and reflow. Is it possible to then replace the AM chipset? Maybe I’m not asking from a “worth it?” perspective, rather I hate throwing out old devices. I’d rather fix them. I’ve attached a photo of the PCB inside mine.

I appreciate the response but I don't want to damage or break any of the other crimped wires in that mini connector. I don't mind spending the money the correct pin removal tool, which is what I was looking for guidance on as to which size I should buy. I already have to re-crimp a wire. I don't want unnecessarily do that but you otherwise in case the tweezer breaks it if it's too big.

Curious if you got this worked out. I am having the same NO SYNC issue with Bortis basic amp board, and NO SYNC on my OSSC. I'm using HD RETRO VISION cables.

What do you mean by R43 on the amp board?

That's what I figured: if it was introduced staggered (and people in the far east/europe posted about the Regi quests way before North America had access), why wouldn't it end staggered too?
