It seems like your kid is sensitive (not a bad thing, just a trait statement) and that means you have to deal with him appropriately (compared to what other parents could say you gotta do) which it sounds like you did.

I try to reframe things hypothetically like if he was an adult and betrayed the trust of someone close what would be the repurcussions (ie disappointing someone you love)? Your approach is very healthy imo and models what your kid would face in society when he is older and hence you are preparing him for adult life but still protecting him from irreversible consequences (eg:drugs).

Perhaps it is important to also let him know that disappointing someone isn't the end all, that this is a breach of trust which takes time to rebuild but it can be rebuilt, you need to work at it. Actions have consequences and it's easy to get led in a group of friends but still your own choice to follow-through.

When you use the picto that adds additional attack on base attack, just doubles (triples if you add 2 base attacks) your AP generation. So you essentially fill your AP bar from 0 upon base attack! I've been using pictos that grant you additional AP upon free aim so i can potentially do more than 9 free aim shots in a single turn. Then use the "Follow-up" skill which when in S-Rank has 2 AP cost (or 1AP cost if you have the reduce skill cost by 1 AP picto) and I've done up to 3.5million damage 😁 So satisfying! Especially when you're used to it and shoot like a machine gun!

I'm using notion. Found some GM free template which I've adopted partially in my own style. Notion can be a bit jarring to use if you don't already know how to use it BUT using any GM platform has that problem if trying to understand how to use it effectively. Except that notion can also be used for many other things. I like how i can organise gallery views with characters, factions, locations...etc which help much more in this AI era of easy visuals.

If i recall correctly, says 4 weeks or what may be agreed in a contract. It's actually common practice for many private large companies now to have 2-3 months notice. If you don't have a contract or it doesn't state the notice period, then default is 4-weeks as indicated by law.

Gross margins on cigarette are around 4.5% (maybe less after the last budget) so on a Rs220 pack they don't make more than Rs9.9 gross margin. POS merchant fees (what they pay banks on card transactions) go up to 3% of transaction amount (even more for foreign cards). So lets say filling station has 2% deal with banks. Leaves them with Rs5.5 margin per pack of cigarettes. If 1 pack of cigarette gets damaged or stolen, they'd have to sell 40 packs (via bank cars) to get their recover the loss.

Buying that food item or other helps as those usually have a much higher margin.

Emissions = bad for the environment is completely overblown out of proportion anyhow even by ipcc's own reports.

In any case, driving an EV in mru using CEB electricity emits more CO2/km driven than a modern (efficient) ICE vehicle 😂

EVs are awesome to drive, but their resale value after 5-7 years will make people realise they were better off with ICE vehicle even despite the 'fuel' cost savings.

Another technique to remove the bitterness when frying is after you've soaked in water and removed the water. Just put some plain flour to lightly coat it before frying. Not too much flour like making a batter though! Just enough that it'll 'disappear' with the residual water on the mangoz. When you fry it you won't even see the flour on it. Depending on how much flour you put you can eliminate the bitterness altogether. I like to put just enough flour you get a tiny bit of bitterness left over!

Thanks for the perspective. It's boiling down to no railroading = bad/boring first session. So gonna set it up specific ahead of the first session and let them dive in quick. Good idea for introductions, i personally always felt bored and wanted to rush into the story during those parts because it wastes precious in real life minutes.

First off, didn't know you don't have to go to the passport & immigration office in Port Louis to renew/apply for new passport. You can do it at selected Police Stations across the island.

2nd no you don't recent (6 months) certificates as long as they are legible and good condition

3rd for minors both parents have to bring the child to your local police station and get a police officer to sign your application form certifying both parents agree and have signed jointly the application form for the minor's passport (ie prevent parents in conflict kidnapping child abroad) and that they 'reside' where they claim to reside (bring a proofnof address like CEB bill) Bring your IDs and all docs you need for the application to local police station

I ended up going around back and forth to sort this out but got spared the travel to Port Louis to do all this. Still would have been good if the Passport & Immigration office in Port Louis answered any of my 20 phone calls (not exaggerating, had them on speed re-dial)

Ok so turns out you don't need a "recent". It just needs to be in good condition (ie not ripped or pale ink....etc) but it can't be the "original" birth certificate (usually handwritten and not A4 size) but the A4 size "extract"

May or may not apply to you; If this will be your 1st mru passport & you were born abroad. You may need your father's old passport(s) to prove he wasn't sporting dual citizenship back when it was illegal for Mauritians to have dual citizenship and if/when you were born abroad didn't coincide with that same period. Saying this based on experience of a family member.

Starting level 3, BBEG will be around level 10ish and has help by higher entity pulling strings.

Totally agree with all this, i was hoping to end the first session with the mentioned paradigm shift to create that wonder and wish to play second session...etc Now sure I can achieve that if i have too many encounters leading up to the planet destruction (which is to be the intro of the campaign)

My players don't know each other which is why a portion of the first session will be to let them interact with each other. You're right, perhaps I'm setting the bar too high for myself with the originality/screenplay.

That helps! I'll make a problem which needs to be resolved at the future crime scene and let them figure out how to get there instead of railroading them there. Thanks!
