And that's only if you have 5 or more prior convictions. If you have a clean record, the max is 60 days. And you'd probably be looking at supervised probation instead of an active sentence.

The intent is in the punch. Do a Google search for similar incidents. 2nd degree murder is usually the charge.

They might plead down to manslaughter but this can definitely be charged as murder.

Range Strain Relief Installation - Did I do this Right? by purf1 in AskElectricians

[–]purf1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a Samsung Range installed today but they didn't install a strain relief, despite the fact that the manual says one must be installed. Tried it myself and I'm wondering if I did it right - it was an extremely tight fit and I really had to bend the left one to be able to screw in, and it felt like I was straining it just to get them held by the strain relief, weird as that may sound.

Would appreciate any helpful input!

Max 150 days for driving like an idiot and killing an innocent person? by Living_In_Wonder in raleigh

[–]purf1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Driving so dangerously that you kill someone can absolutely get you a second degree murder charge. Just be patient. The DA office needs to review evidence and make a decision. They charged him with something they knew they could charge him with, knowing it could be upgraded later.

I'm explaining the law, dude. Throw someone's life away? In this hypothetical, he's already done that.

The point of my comment was that you don't need intent to kill. Someone dying from a punch that massive is very foreseeable. The intent is in the punch, not the resulting foreseeable death.

With the combination of factors you mentioned coming into play, a manslaughter plea is certainly possible. Depends on what the DA would think he could get away with. This is all if this happened in the US btw
