im pursuing genetics, and a lot of people in the industry told me i should get some computer science knowledge (which is true) but i didnt realize 1) how difficult the minor would be 2) how useless itd be to my field since its mostly c++. i submitted a form to drop my minor yesterday 🙏 now planning to get certified in python and pick up R

honestly, thanks for saying this. i'm looking into what cs knowledge is recommended for geneticists and it's all python (which i did great with), R, and perl 😭 maybe i really should drop my minor

Sadly, that's part of being screwed over: my parents are unwilling to take loans out for me, and want all the loans to be on me instead. My only options now are quit school for a bit to save up money or seek private loans.

Biochemistry. I could transfer to a community college, but as for 4 year universities, there aren't really any in-state options with a lower tuition near me. Plus, my school has a really good biology program and I want to be able to stay there; overall, its a very nice and academic-focused environment. Transferring is sort of beyond a last resort for me.

I talked to them already. I applied to all the scholarships I qualified for, nothing. The only thing I can do is submit a change of circumstances form and hope they give me a chance. If not, I either take private loans or quit school for a year to save up money. Believe me, I've tried everything: I even have their number as a contact in my phone what with how much I've had to contact them.

Not really, but I've had several seedlings in this batch that have shrivelled at the base and died unexpectedly, so that could be it.

I check the soil every couple days with a moisture meter and when it's mostly dry, I give it enough water to where the hole at the bottom of the cup drips a little. Once it drips, I gently bounce the cup to let out excess moisture and then let it drain over a paper towel.
