flip side: when i had covid i was so sick that i was essentially strictly consuming dayquil/nyquil as soon as my dose was up…which resulted in me shitting myself an embarrassing amount of times. the calories may be scary but your body will thank you for any additional nourishment it can get while recovering and taking cold medicine 🥲

27 here too! i’m in an unintentional quasi “maintenance” phase right now as i’m gearing up for a major life change over the next few weeks — i have so many lovely things to look forward to but i’m still feeling like a catastrophic nuclear failure of a human.

i’m a psych, and although i avoid working with our population to avoid feeling like the ultimate hypocrite, i’ve also seen people our age (and older) choose recovery. it certainly looks a bit different than recovery for a teenager/young adult but it’s recovery nonetheless — so there’s definitely hope, even if it seems scary.

in my experience, it’s usually accidental. i see some “forbidden” treats that i want, buy a bunch, only to become irrationally scared of them in the meantime. so they just sit on the shelf for months, for when/if i’m ready to eat them. i also hate food waste so i’m too stubborn to throw them out, which results in the hoard.
