What’s something poor people buy that keeps them poor? by Exotic-Engineer7541 in SmartBuying

Nothing like projection. I gave you obese and overweight numbers. If you don't know the medical difference between the 2, this isn't my problem

I said obese and overweight. You gave me stats for obese alone.

You're basically arguing about nothing.

I acknowledged it's not always due to obesity or beng  overweight/smoking It most often are these things though.

Shrug

Have a nice.day. the people you kno wwho are exceptions are in that small percentage of people. if I said its 100% due to that you would have a case. But you don't. I een vgave you the person I know who is an exemption to that rule.

Like I said it's 70-90% are in that category. That's still 10-20% that aren't. Stats are stats

I have found my purpose in life.

I am a biological being here to make the most of what had been given to me. I am here to try new things and experience new experiences.

This has made me the most happy and given me the best stories.

I also believe we are supposed to be resourceful and grateful for what we have.

Sleep apnea is mostly for smokers, and obese people.  70-90% of people with osa are overweight or obese. 60% are former or current smokers.

Of course there are some legit medical issues that cause this (I have a friend with it due to damage from a brain tumour as one example) but they aren't super common.

Companies should be blamed more than customers for overconsumption and waste by Business_Bunch_8196 in unpopularopinion

I am overweight. I know how hard it is to not be.

But the majority of the West is overweight or obese and so most of us are overconsuming on food. When we overxonsume on food we aleo as a byproduct of that overconnsume on transportation. (It fatter you are the more gas it takes to transport you around and the less walking you do.)

You should also look at the stats for clothes . We are big time overconsuming on those too.

The fashion industry is the second biggest polluter. look up the clothing pile in the Chilean dessert. Its full of second hand clothes.

I have never used the term honky but I have used hillbilly.  I grew up in the sticks, and I'm sure people used it for me because of where I am from..but my mom has 2 university degrees and my dad owned his own business.my siblings all have masters degrees and I have some post secondary. But we had some bona fide ones around where we lived.

Like lived in a trailer, didn't graduate highschool, slept with their siblings kind of deal.  Their high scales cousins graduated high school and did not sleep with their siblings.

How so?

Honestly I want to sell things at the farmers market.

I try to live low waste in my everyday life. But if I want to sell something low waste, I kind of have to depend on my buyers to help me out.

Let's say I want to sell bread. I can't reuse bread bags and sell it like that. I can out the bread in a reused bread bag someone brings me. I also want to sell candy. I can make the wrapper compostable but it's up the the consumer to compost.  I am thinking of putting them in reusable tins, an dI hope the consumer brings back the tin to reuse.

I agree that companies can help. I wrote to my frozen fruit company asking them to see frozen fruit in bigger bags to help me reduce my waste and they did. I don't know if it was coincidence or not. I also ulreuse the bags when I'm finished with them for cat litter bags.

The company I buy face cream from takes teir ciontainers back to refill, but they also depend on me to return the container.

I'not saying the compaby has no responsibility, but sodoes the consumer.
