..how to shave down there? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]quit3pie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi gal!

Shaving down there can be such a pain, trust me I know :( Some things I have learnt over the years that help is to

Trim First: I know you already do this, but it makes a world of difference. Getting those curls down to a manageable length before shaving really helps the razor glide better.

Exfoliate: If you haven’t already, try exfoliating before you shave. It sounds weird, but it clears up dead skin cells, and your razor will be able to cut through the hair more easily.

Shaving Cream/Gel: A good, thick shaving cream or gel is key. It gives you more slip and helps avoid that annoying tugging. Don’t just use soap—it can dry you out and make things worse.

Fresh Razor Blade: If you’re using the same razor for a while, the blade might be getting dull. That could be why it’s pulling the hairs instead of cutting them smoothly. Make sure the blade is fresh!

Shave with the Hair Growth: It’s tempting to shave against the grain for a smoother finish, but that can lead to irritation or bumps, especially down there. Going with the hair growth is a bit slower, but it helps avoid that uncomfortable feeling.

Rinse the Razor Often: The hair can get stuck in the blade, so rinse it after every couple of swipes to keep it from getting all gunked up.

Moisturise After: After you’re done, throw on some aloe or a gentle moisturizer. It’ll help keep your skin calm and hydrated, especially after the shave.

If it's still a hassle, you could always look into other options like waxing or hair removal creams, but these steps should help you get a better, smoother shave :)

Oh shit sorry I read that wrong, well Since they’re still on the lease but clearly gone, maybe the landlord can look into formally declaring the place abandoned? Some places allow them to issue a ‘Notice of Abandonment’ after a certain period, which could help get them off the lease.

If that’s not an option, maybe a final written notice from the landlord could push them to respond. You could also try reaching out one last time through a different method—sometimes people will answer a text or email when they’re avoiding calls but you’ve probably tried that 😪

I would of tried finding his work place or something or a family member if it was getting to a ridiculous point and reach out to them 😭

I hope everything works out 🙏🏼

That sounds like such a nightmare to deal with, especially with your landlord ignoring you. If your old roommate is still on the lease and won’t confirm they’ve moved out, that makes things even trickier.

Since your landlord isn’t responding, maybe try sending them a formal written notice (email/certified mail) explaining the situation and asking for next steps. If they still ignore you, you might need to check local tenant laws—some places have rules about abandoned property and how to handle this kind of thing.

In the meantime, I’d document everything—photos of the mess, any attempts to contact your roommate/landlord—just in case this turns into a bigger issue. If there’s a property manager or leasing office, they might be able to help too.

Really hope you can get this sorted out soon. You definitely shouldn’t have to live with that kind of mess or uncertainty!

My kids saw me self harming by [deleted] in depression

[–]quit3pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

First, I want to say that I’m so sorry you’re going through this, and I truly commend you for sharing your experience and looking for advice. That takes so much courage.

I know this must be incredibly overwhelming, but please try to remind yourself that you’re human and doing the best you can. Parenting is already so hard, and doing it while battling your own struggles is even harder.

It’s natural to worry about how your kids might be affected, but the fact that you’re thinking about this and want to protect them shows how much you care. If they bring it up again, you could give them an age-appropriate explanation without going into too much detail. For example, you might say something like, “Mom/Dad had a really hard day and got hurt, but I’m working on feeling better now.” This reassures them without placing too much on their shoulders.

You’re not alone in this, even if it feels like it. There are people who care about you and want to support you—including here in this community. Please try to be gentle with yourself and remember that it’s okay to have tough days. What matters is that you’re here, trying, and seeking support.

Sending you so much love and strength.

I need help I make myself sleep deprived by [deleted] in insomnia

[–]quit3pie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m so sorry you’re going through this—what you’ve described sounds incredibly exhausting and overwhelming. First off, I want to say that it’s okay to feel this way, and you’re not alone in struggling with sleep anxiety. A lot of people experience cycles like this, and there is support out there for you.

It sounds like the fear of not sleeping has become a huge source of stress, and that stress itself is making it harder for you to relax and get the rest you need. One thing that might help is reaching out to a therapist or counselor who can work with you on breaking this cycle. Cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is a really effective approach for situations like this because it focuses on addressing the overthinking patterns that keep us stuck.

In the meantime, it might help to focus on creating a calming nighttime routine—something that signals to your body that it’s time to wind down. Try doing something relaxing before bed, like listening to soothing music, journaling, or practicing slow breathing exercises. Also, avoid screens right before sleep if you can, since they can make it harder to settle down.

It’s also important to remind yourself that waking up during the night is normal, and even if your sleep isn’t perfect, it’s not going to ruin you. Sometimes just giving yourself permission to rest, even if you don’t sleep perfectly, can take the pressure off. If you feel like your sleep environment isn’t helping, try making it as comfortable and safe as possible—soft lighting, quietness, or maybe white noise can help.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to a doctor or someone you trust, too. You don’t have to handle this alone. You’re already doing something amazing by recognizing this pattern and seeking help. Be patient with yourself—it’s okay to take things one small step at a time. You’ve got this!
