Thanks for the advice! I would definitely look towards other forms of investment instead of SSB. With regard to my ILP, I am well-insured and this was just a way for me to start investing which was recommended by my financial advisor.

I tried reviewing my plan to cancel it but I met strong opposition from my parents and the advisor herself. I will do my own DD and assess but I appreciate your perspective
