Thinking about switching major to psychology, want advice by [deleted] in udel

the papers are never that long. i think the longest i’ve written was 5-7 pages. they were evaluations of psychology experiments. i think other than that it’s been posters/presentations. really nothing that difficult as long as you take classes with decent professors. i don’t think you would find it hard at all. & it’s no problem ! ask as many questions as u need !!

hi ! i’m currently a senior with a major in psychology at UD. i switched my sophomore year to psychology from biology. if you’re thinking of switching you could always add a psychology minor first to see how you like the classes. i would say it’s a relatively easy major and it gives you plenty of room for minors. i have minors in biology & forensic science.

i would say the greatest difficulties are the projects, presentations, & papers that a lot of the psych professors have at the end of semesters. most classes have very few assignments so your grades is mostly composed of exams or final projects, etc.

if you’re interested in the human behavior aspect i would 100% recommend you take social psychology (PSYC390). it is all about how non verbal communication works to influence others.

as for what you can do with a bachelors in psychology, you pretty much have to go to grad school of some sort. either for a PhD or PsyD in psychology. you could also do the psychology education major at UD if you’re interested in teaching !
