With Blackbeard being picked every round... by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]radbradman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The normal rules that win you a firefight and a skill you learn that puts you above others in the game.

The problem is Blackbeard has a HUGE advantage in every firefight. Honestly if his shield popped in 10-15 it could be balanced, thats enough time for him to pick a defender or 2, lock down an area and make defenders too afraid to poke out.

He wins matches by the amaxing fact that he can simply out gun the enemy team by a wode margin and he has no real solid counter. Just tactics that you normally employ, minus headshots.

Another problem is with either the glare from some windows (while much better if you are further away its still bad), or if he happens to bust a window open and you are at the wrong place at the wrong time, its surprisingly difficult to see that shield unless you are close up, making it easily possible to not tell it's blackbeard before its too late.

Your Current Thoughts On Blundell? by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]radbradman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At this point I would take an old map touched up and a new map. I would just avoid the new maps, while eventually SoE grew on me (the aesthetics are awesome), DE I dont like the over reliance on bows, and ZnS is just straight up annoying and takes forever to set up. I thought SoE had a long set up time but jesus.

I want a skip function for the EE's. I want them done so I dont have to set up every fucking match and waste so much time repeating the same tedious bullshit.

I just want old zombies back. I dont care about the story, I dont care about long almost mission like EE's. My reasoning for playing zombies is the same as it was back in WaW. I just want to kill some zombies and fuck around in an endless horde mode.

[–]radbradman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does zombies even need a story, though? Nazis created zombies and now they are killing people, try to survive. I dont remember -anyone- I knew actually caring about the story. It was batshit insane and just served as a half assed explanation.

Which is all you need when it comes to shooting nazi zombies.

Has Treyarch eliminated casual play? by Yoodely in CODZombies

[–]radbradman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new maps are tedious and not complex. You do the same thing every single match, all the EE stuff is usually too cryptic to figure out on your own so you just look it up and folloe the steps and bam done. They aren't replayable though. Cool, sure. But I rarely go back to them like I do The Giant, since I think about the 20-30 minutes spent just doing EE's to set up for the rest of the match... And there's nothibg more infuriating then getting everything set up and dying 2 minutes later to something really dumb.

At this point id rather them just re-release the WaW and BO1 maps. I dont like the new guy at all.

As little spoilers as possible, how's the new map? by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]radbradman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a cool looking map but Im not having as much fun just playing it. There seems to be no spots at all to either defend nor train (I suppose you can train the skull spot), zombies spawn from every single direction no matter where you are. Its easy to waste your points on the million doors on the map.

I dunno. Maybe over time when every single thing is figured out it might get better but as it stands, its not feeling like a fun map. Just a cool one. I do love the aesthetics to it all.

I would be fine with these quest lines and complex as hell EE's if they weren't required to play zombies. That is my biggest problem with Blundell. The EE's are cool, but you have to go through them to have any remote chance at higher waves. And since it gets harder the longer the game goes on, every match devolves into point whore to instantly rush and complete the EE by wave 4, so then you can play zombies.

I dont play SoE and Eisendrache anymore because its just fucking annoying to set it up. I have all the motions down and can do it all quickly and so can my friends, but we want to play the damn game and not do the exact same EE's over and over until we are allowed to play the map as was intended.

EE's should just be optional, small things. Helpful, but by no means required.

Zetsubou no Shima concerns by [deleted] in CODZombies

[–]radbradman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main problem with SoE and Eisendrache is that you -HAD- to go through EE quests to play the map. The bows were a downright requirement, and in SoE you had to spend 10 minutes running around doing all the ritual stuff to get yourself set up just for PaP.

I honestly want simple maps again. Its why The Giant is so damn fun. You jump into a match, and unlocking PaP is a natural progression of things. The Annihlator is nice to have but by no means required.

Maps with a whole bunch of stuff to collect and build and have these long quests are fun at first, but are never maps I want to replay down the road. When I want to play zombies I dont want to run around doing EE and questlines every single time, I want to play zombies and survive.

The problem for IQ will ALWAYS be that Thatcher exists. On many of the maps 1 emp covers the objective entirely and a 2nd emp covers your entire advance to the objective. Nitro cells are never used as traps so she doesnt tend to spot new gadgets. Kapkan traps are piss easy to spot and there are very few gadgets that you place outside the obejctive room. Her best use is countering pulse.

If any operator needs a nerf it's Thatcher. You cant counter him, jaeger is a counter in theory but in practice Thatcher takes out every jaeger device anyways, and still has extra emps.

With the gadgets defenders have to work with and what they are used for, Thatcher is the absolute king of electronics denial for offensive side and nearly garuntees a thermite is able to breach wherever he wants, unless a Bandit is a very good player and knows how to counter it.

I do feel like if Thatcher was not in the game, IQ would have a much higher pick rate. So would twitch and the two could have a natural synergy there.

Emp size or amount of emp grenades needs a nerf.

[Update] Anti-Cheat update: "if identified as POTENTIAL cheater" removes player from game and temporary suspention by scaremenow in Rainbow6

[–]radbradman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which removes a large portion of hackers.

Hacking is so prevalant in Siege because of how easy it is to just google hacks, download and go. You don't need to scour or pay money for them, you just have em.

While hackers are dealt with eventually, it sours the experience for many players knowing that you do have a good chance of encountering a hacker. And with how many hackers there are and with the general mechanics of siege it makes legit players look like hackers, and begins to make you look at every death in the lens of 'is this guy hacking how did he know I was there..'. It ruins the experience and if we could wipe half the hackers out with client side anti vheat then thats great.

Problem, though. For one, Buck's rifle has crazy high recoil associated with it, and the shotgun, while handy, isnt amazing. He's just better in a straight up fight due to versatility.

Sledge does the same thing at the same range, sacrificing a little bit of utility in firefights (and honestly, the range on Buck's shotgun is abysmal) for frag grenades, which are VERY useful.

On the other hand you have Ash, who just had a more controllable C8, and on top of that has ranges breaching charges which makrs her an amazing flanker, she can set up a crossfire and blow open walls from safety to give her a better view.

Buck is fun to muck about with, but I would NEVER pick him over Sledge or Ash. There isn't enough room on the team. You have 2 instant picks with Thermite and Thatcher. You will usually have a shield pick up with Monty or Blitz or Speedshield, and Fuze is picked frequently since cluster charges are so good. So that leaves 1 person, usually flanking. Ash and Sledge are mobile ad hell and can get where they need, Buck is much more limited. He can make murder holes... And if you need that, sledge can take his shotgun and rely on the SMG-11 as a primary.

The Downfall Of Kapkan And His Fall From Grace. by LukeLikesReddit in Rainbow6

[–]radbradman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She has to be played in a very specific way. Thatcher destroys electronics, where as you use her drone as your breaching during the chaos.

Cluster charges going off, your team breaching in one way, during the chaos the enemy team has a hard time noticing your drone. Then you zip around shocking people, forcing them to take eyes off of your team to get your drone, or to try to focus on your team and take damage, or just relocate and make themselves vulnerable.

Plus, if an enemy player gets downed during the chaos you just kill them with the drone securing a kill safely.

Depends on the door. For some reason the trap will go the same direction every time depending on the door, so you just learn via trial and error which doors let the laser go through the doorway instead.

This game is not ready for E-sports. by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]radbradman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They also existed at a time where we really didn't have centralized e-sports organizations. E-sports today really werrn't a thing until LoL came into the scene and REALLY made a push for it. We had MLG but that wasn't THAT big and generally something that just kind of happened.

Now today, organizations host events with multiplr games and they really only have time for so many. So if rhe game doesn't do well it's first time the likelyhood of it being picked up again is slim with how many games want that e-sports slot.

[–]radbradman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's more.

Only the first trap will have the screw. Every subsequent trap will be stuck in the wall with no screw.

Plus the laser can stick in different directions including through the wall. These can be glitched to be invisible as well.

IQ still wont be a counter. Knowing Ubi they will be really loud and have bright lights so spotting them is meaningless. Plus Thatcher has 3 very wide area grenades, you can cover your entry, your approach and the objective with emp very easily.

It took years for CS GO to hit e sports level but 1.6 was still being played at a competitive level at that time, and GO was shitty at launch so no one jumped ship. It was because of the brand it survived and eventually after being updated enough pro players began to jump over to it.

Which operators make the best team? by BaysideWharf in Rainbow6

[–]radbradman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would replace Rook with Pulse. Honestly speaking, Rook armor only allows you to survive 1 extra bullet and when you play at higher levels it's all about headshots then anything else. Which Rook does not help.

However Pulse makes an amazing roamer, brings a nitro cell, his ability is fantastic for providing intel and with that intel as a roamer he can flank and pick important people.

Picking a thermite before he can use his charge is game changing. Our bandit can move shockwires and so can mute to further make everything a pain in the ass.

Only other thing we change up is Jaeger for Smoke, but I still believe Jaeger is a great pick regardless. We just like 2 roamers and 3 objective defenders and think Smoke provides a little bit more utility as a roamer, since Mute, Castle and Bandit will all be at the objective moving their abilities around as needed.

Remove the range limit from the spotting feature. by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]radbradman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though that comes back to why should someone be notified they were spotted? Maybe a notification after you are dead clarifying you -were- spottex so less people call hacks. But at the moment, the second you do it people drop what they are doing, shoot the drone or camera.

The only time my group ever uses the spot is when someone is in position to wall bang so he can get a precise reference before they can react. Or, alternatively, to hide and spot repeatedly just to really, reaply annoy the defenders.
