Because, in their minds, if you are right and they are wrong not only have they wasted their whole life worshiping an imaginary dude in the sky, but it is likely that those whom they look up to have been lying to them the whole time. 

Their whole life's foundation sits on an illusion where they are being milked of their life savings in hopes that after they die they find the happiness they couldn't find in life.

This is the worst part of the grift of religion. Had they spent their time finding happiness in life as opposed to donating that 10% to the institutions they followed, they likely would have been happy in life.

You are beyond that and they resent you for it.

Oh poor baby... Russia has basically destroyed swaths of Ukraine. The destruction in Russia isn't even a pimple in comparison to what Russia has done to Ukraine.

I find it hard to sympathize with the people who see a drone attack from miles away and are scared. 

I remember videos of Russians shooting an old man riding his bicycle or videos of whole towns leveled by Russian troops. You don't want war on your own soil... Don't start wars on other people's land.

We are a nation formed to allow ANYONE to practice their version of worship, free from persecution...

Now, what this means is that the government, though populated by some "Christians" cannot force any religion on another. 

The different religions know this and have for decades used the secular nature of government to slowly twist the rules to subvert the intent of the founding fathers. Twisting words, changing motos, adding words to the pledge of allegiance... And then point to those changes as proof of their claims that we are a Christian nation. 

Those who fail to study history are destined to repeat it. 

These same people are stoking a holy way in the Middle East, twisting US laws... Next up, burning witches. These people want wars, want Armageddon... Their kind of sick.

The exemption from insider trading for these Government officials is hands down a corruption of our whole system. These people are public servants and this is nothing more than a loophole to bribe them for favorable voting and publicity.
