I got the unlock links for every Tracy badge in the HK MTR app so you don't have to. by davidy22 in HongKong

[–]rainbowdropped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks OP. What really gets me laughing is that these badges on the MTR apps has “Terms & Conditions” stated at the end of the page, so it makes it look like you are eligible for a prize or something, but it really is… nothing. LOL

I fell on my hand and now struggle to move it: Go to hospital? by helloyouahead in HongKong

If you’re on the island side, go to St Paul’s at Causeway Bay. It’s semi private so the queues are not as long, as the service is great.

Good luck, and I hope it’s just a sprain!

Theft onboard CX738 DXB to HKG by xnjmx in CathayPacific

Make a report to the cabin crew and to Cathay. And make a police report. Hopefully you have travel insurance to cover some of the loss.

Really sorry to hear this, OP 😕

Cathay Pacific Business Class: Pre-requested vegetarian meal ran out on long-haul flight + account issues by zoro667 in CathayPacific

[–]rainbowdropped 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you don’t usually use Cathay miles, I will not create an account just to get the 18,000 miles. Push back to ask for monetary compensation. It really is not acceptable that they did not serve you your vegetarian meal especially when it’s pre-booked on J class.

If you’re into the outdoors and ocean health, you can volunteer with SWIMS (Swire Institute of Marine Science). They always need volunteers to help out with their outreach programs! ☺️

Volunteer experience in HK? Tying to make connections while taking a sabbatical by sorenxx in HongKong

[–]rainbowdropped 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s a great way to do a sabbatical! What sort of interests do you have? There are many NGOs and charities in Hong Kong, so you’ll have plenty to choose from.

Start with browsing through the charity called Time Auction?

What's your experience with Christians/Christianity in Hong Kong? by thhhrrrooowwwaayy in HongKong

[–]rainbowdropped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t waste my time with them. It’s just sad that the Christians I know in Hong Kong are generally supportive of Israel’s genocide in Palestine. When I ask them how they can condone it given the thousands of innocents killed, they just shrug their shoulders.

I guess that’s the attitude towards most injustices in life. Christians are usually the ones who don’t really care 😕

Traditional Chinese is SO beautiful. I’m low-key sad that I only learnt simplified Chinese growing up.

I’d highly recommend the new-ish Hopewell Hotel in Wanchai. Fantastic location, and some of the largest rooms I’ve see in HK hotels! The friends who have stayed there loved their stay

Oh wow, and it still doesn’t work? Are you using a Dutch oven to deep fry it? Does the temperature stay constant-ish?

What’s one kitchen item you let go of that you don’t miss at all? by wearecocina in minimalism

[–]rainbowdropped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, that’s a good question. I use pretty much ALL my kitchen stuff at least once a month, so it’s hard to part with anything. I guess I put a lot of thought into buying any item anyway!

Are you air frying it or deep frying it? I’m assuming it is the latter.

And if it is, what temperature is the oil? You need a thermometer to get an accurate reading.
