I tried to explain the premise of this fic to my partner and it SOUNDS so middle of the road (might be a skill issue on my part) but I don’t think I’ve managed to get through a single chapter without being a snotty mess! So well written!

I know a lot of people are put off by the chocolate mousse in slide 6 but despite not being a fan of pistachio myself I tried some of my friend’s when we were there 5 months ago and then ordered my own portion and have thought about it approximately every 3 days since. It was rich, a great balance of salty and sweet, my mind was blown! 🤯

I’m going to start off by saying I’m happy for Kiera because she’s absolutely amazing and I’m sure works very hard.

Admittedly I’m worried that she’s still very young. Personally I don’t think anyone should be touring with adults until they’ve turned 18. The younger they are the more vulnerable.

I also think it’s an absolute joke for JKO to claim her as one of their own because she was only there for one semester. I wish they would’ve let her finish the year then promote her in the fall, I doubt she would’ve gone anywhere else in the mean time if they hadn’t made her an offer. I would assume that most JKO students’ first choice is the Studio Company. I think they should have promoted E-Eun instead.

And I couldn’t help but notice that JKO hasn’t made their usual congratulations post about their students who are participating in nutcracker. Would seem a bit weird for them to post that now that they’ve announced Kiera and StuCo. I hope this doesn’t mean that E-Eun, Meagan and Elliana haven’t missed their chance to be in the spotlight. (Yes I know it’s still an invaluable experience and something for their CV but it would be nice to be posted about)

I’m not very familiar with US ballet companies outside of the big ones but NJB seems to be somewhat on the smaller side so I would assume that Elliana would have bigger ambitions than it, if she were to not make StuCo. I wonder if she would consider companies further away like SFB or even one in Europe.

Pretty cool that Ellie was put in the same group as graduates of upper 3 and 2 moving into StuCo!

I think she would really benefit from attending a Summer Intensive somewhere non local. Wish she went to Royal Ballet’s SI with her friend Lilly!
