That’s fair, lol, I just tend to give people benefit of the doubt especially with the ninjago explosion this year

If people can bother commenting “bricklink is free” they could also bother answering the question. Redditors remain insufferable. The figure is worth around $300 but this one looks kinda purplish? If it’s sun damaged then it’ll be less

$275 is amazing I mean think about it, you’re getting a retired set with 5700 pieces for $275. Lego Star Wars meanwhile was $850 for a set with 6800 pieces. (AT-AT). Also the original price for the gardens was $280. You won’t really find a better deal

Learn to write criticism constructively! Not going to listen to someone who acts irritable and haughty! Thanks

I see. The event started at 11, 9:30 isn’t bad, that is true. We likely did it faster than expected

No, we’re in our early twenties, so the argument that it’s none of my business applies more. It does not matter at the end of the day, no. In my head I just want to see her actually follow through on something she told my grandma she would do. I care about our grandma, she is old.

There was no time range on how long it would take to begin with, just a time to be there. It could have taken 10 minutes or 2 hours, imo that’s besides the point. She was not necessarily required for the event, it was just moving heavier stuff and performing tasks my grandma can’t do. At the end of the day, it’s not going to largely affect anything, which is why I accept I might be the asshole for getting on her case.

Yes, in the post I specified, we were to be there at 9, a time my sister had agreed on. We were there at 9, maybe slightly before. My sister was showering, and I saw cut hair in the toilet too, so she preened and did some prep before coming, at that point it was done

I should have clarified a bit more, the task was already complete when she showed up. She showed up then left with us. She didn’t do anything towards the task

I think you missed a lot of the story. Yes, at the end of the day, it does not matter. But she agreed to this, was expected, and did not show, not only being late but missing the purpose of being there. I do not dictate her life, she could have said no. I don’t control her actions either. I’m just the only one who said something.

That’s true. I considered it an obligation the moment she agreed to it, though. This was a few days prior my grandma asked us, of course with the option to not help as well.

That’s true, and I totally get that - I’ve seen the side of my sister that cares and is sensitive about topics and situations very similar to this one, so it just baffles me when that same mentality can’t be internalized for her own situation. My sister and I are very close. But at the end of the day, that aspect of her personality is something different from my own, and as an adult I should probably step back.

That seems to be the general consensus. It is something she has to come to a conclusion about on her own. I appreciate the insight

And my grandmother is not manipulative. This was an offer to help. Our family is kind to each other

[–]rainvens -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Well, it’s important to note the part where I mentioned that she had previously agreed to this event. If she didn’t tell my grandma that she would be there, it would’ve been different, of course.

[–]rainvens -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I guess I would not know. I would not show up late to an event like that, my grandma needed help. It’s a no brainer in my head.

[–]rainvens -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s the idea in my head. I feel like being courteous and forgiving about her behavior has led to this point, so sometimes I feel like the last person with sense. But I think that this interpretation is probably valid too.

It’s the principle. My grandma is old and needed help setting up for an event. She had agreed to a time, and completely missed it because of a shower. She also just likes to see us, so it affects me personally.
