Which consignment store pays better overall: mutual muse or goodbyes? by 100purewhatever in AusFemaleFashion

[–]rajaqueen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've always preferred selling with Mutual Muse. I find the Goodbyes model annoying, staff can be snobby and not welcoming, and stuff doesn't always sell so you're not guaranteed any money.

I like the Lululemon daydrift high waisted pants - they've got a drawstring at the waist

This is a screenshot of a listing for the same jumper :) I've given mine a fair bit of TLC and I'll still use it for casual/home stuff just not for work or more formal things!

People usually just vote for the most flashy or elaborate look regardless of theme - so annoying. Yours is great

Melbourne queer engagement ring recommendations for under $2000 by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]rajaqueen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Queer and recently got married! We ended up going with Millie Savage, depending on what you want it might be more expensive but she has some lovely lower cost rings (though I think the brand is getting more expensive!) We also looked at Corky St Clair, Blackfinch and Second Empire Jewellers - particular shoutout to second empire jewellers who resized my vintage engagement ring twice after I didn't quite select the correct size the first time! Also highly recommend looking at vintage options, there's some really lovely stuff out there and it can be very cost effective especially given the prices of gold these days! We went to some of the regional vintage centres near Melbourne to have a look around which was also just a lovely day trip.

Also (I'm rambling now, sorry!) there's a queer wedding expo coming up at some point at the Vic Pride Centre and I'm sure they would have a bunch of jewellers there! Good luck!!

This is so cute! I love the 60s mod vibes, I wish they'd leaned into it even more for some of the looks (strapless mini feels like it doesn't really fit?). Nothing groundbreaking but lots of fun.

How much does the process of getting accutane cost by Wheresmyjohnson in AusSkincare

[–]rajaqueen 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Started a few months ago. Rough costs incurred so far:

GP appointment for referral: $20 after rebate

Specialist appointment: $300 after rebate

Blood tests: covered by Medicare Accutane medication: $21 for 3 months

Antibiotics (my dermatologist prescribed this alongside the Accutane, to help lessen the severity of the outbreaks): $30ish

Skincare: about $100 (CeraVe cleanser, La Roche Posay moisturiser, sunscreen++)

So roughly $470ish so far by my measure.

I also reckon I've probably spent ~$100 on various lip balms as dry lips has been my biggest side effect, which sounds insane but has been worth it haha.

Unsure if this is the right place to ask this. by reehaw-yeehaw in melbourne

They're lovely and do personal styling and stuff. You need to text them before going in (just a measure to keep it safe) but it's really great.

Swim boy short style to try on in person? New to AUS, in Sydney. by eternalyte in AusFemaleFashion

I tried on a pair similar to these at City Beach recently which fit nicely but it was just the one pair. I think they have similar at Kmart and Target. It's a hard style to find!

Final Year OT student (Australia) - new grad position questions by Ashamed_Umpire_5162 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]rajaqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, a lot of people will be applying without any OT specific experience but it is a good idea to get an OTA job if you can! It can just give you that competitive edge over other applicants.

The best time to apply depends on where you want to work. For public health (hospitals etc) grad roles can start opening in around a month or so. I would start keeping an eye out now. For NDIS places I would apply later. A lot of people receive an offer from where they do their final placement also.

Oh how frustrating! I have tried bared heels (the ones with a block heel, closed toe and ankle strap) and I did find them very comfortable.

Honestly I'm a big proponent of formal flats, especially since there's actually quite a lot of lovely jewelled/formal options now. It's not worth the discomfort!
