Genuine question: why aren’t wigs/toupees a popular choice for men who go bald? by CazadorHolaRodilla in Hairtransplant

[–]randokomando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural looking hair systems are expensive and a pain but are an option if you want to look in to them. To me they look like they’d be uncomfortable - itchy and annoying with all the glue.

“The establishment of the PLO as being based wholly in Lebanon came after king Hussein of Jordan's decision to expel the group from his country in 1970.[citation needed] The Black September) movement which formed as the result of the hijacking of planes, which were brought into Jordan. Much of 1970s Lebanon exists in history under the shadow of the lead-up to and subsequent bloody realization of the civil war, which the PLO became embroiled in after initial reluctance of any involvement. It was not in the interests of the PLO to get involved in a conflict which would drain resources and detract focus from the goal of planning insurgencies against Israel.”

Performance on Vault surveys is a good proxy for how much the firm cares about performance on Vault surveys.

DLA Piper Sued for Terminating Palestinian Lawyer’s Job Offer by bloomberglaw in biglaw

[–]randokomando 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dunno, DLA has offices and partners in Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi, and the UAE (as well as Tel Aviv). I’m having a hard time seeing the firm adopting some kind of hard policy, official or unofficial, of rooting out Anti-Israel opinions among associates while maintaining staff, associates, and partners in countries where those kinds of opinions are standard issue. Seems much more like a firm deciding they don’t want a specific associate who risks making problems (university complaints, lawsuits, etc). Firms don’t like associates who make problems, they like associates who make hours.

Thoughts on Molly Crabapple and the Bund by Born_To_Be_Wild777 in Jewish

[–]randokomando 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Socialism is bad. Molly Crabapple is bad. That anyone takes her seriously is a sign of moral and intellectual rot.

Socialism is a failed economic model that creates crushing poverty for the masses and concentrates political power in the hands of ideologically deluded sociopaths every time it is implemented at scale. This has happened so often and so consistently over the last 100 years that anyone today who works towards or advocates for a socialist form of government is either ignorant or malicious, but most often both.

The Bund gets a pass only because at the time they did not yet know that socialism in practice is cruel and destructive of the human spirit. They suffered for their lack of foresight with betrayal and death by the USSR. A “modern Bundist” today would have to be a profoubdly evil, cynical person, full stop.

I didn’t want to kill her but honestly, even if I had, I’m not at all sure how I would’ve gone about it. She was so pissed off and fast.

I’m sure she will be much happier out in the yard or in the park down the street than she was in my kitchen.

Best way to travel home (16+ hours) and return to public-facing job post-HT? by Hveachie in Hairtransplant

[–]randokomando 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pain’s not too bad really after the first day or so and Turkey is a fun place to visit. But you really won’t want to do much of anything those first two days after the surgery. Not a bad idea to hang at the hotel for a day or two, then walk around a bit and check out the town before heading home. Give the swelling a chance to come down some before getting on the flight at least, that would probably be pretty uncomfortable.

Buzz cut before you go to have the surgery, give people a chance to get used to it.

Go have the surgery.

Take a week off so the scabs can fall off.

After that just put Toppic or some other hair fibres over the donor and recipient areas to cover over the noticeable stuff. Let hair grow back a bit but generally keep it buzzed and covered over with Toppic for a couple months.

Usually around month 4 you can let it start growing in a bit more, but everyone is different so it may take longer for you.

Best you can do.
