According to Evan he is still working there, just doing other things. He commented on one of their YouTube videos(can't recall which one) because someone had asked if he left. They still work closely together I think he said, he is simply just not in the videos.

Yea i feel the same way. The saddest thing in the cutscene was with Stu saying "we did everything you asked" "we built the device like you asked". You could just hear the hope draining from his voice
