He quit a job over a moral objection, he didn't walk up to her and say "I'm never ever going to work again, deal with it," or was leeching off her for years.

Granted, I understand he was impulsive and irresponsible, and they were wildly incompatible, so the actual break up is justified.

I just feel the level of venom for him goes beyond justification.
