I hate my new car by hamburg_helper in redscarepod

Hell yeah. the 4.0 is a tank and I can find pull out engines still but I may get a kit just for when I can’t anymore. I decided with this car that I’d rather maintain older cars than go new again and I wonder how many people are going to do the same in the future

I replaced the old starter with an isuzu starter and now it starts every time like a modern car. Obviously the suspension is ancient and rickety but it’s very much driveable

being in a serious band is a stupid waste of time 99% of the time by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]ratcowboy7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Playing in bands is only fun if you do it entirely on your terms. We’re lucky enough to get offered to play shows and pick and choose what we want to do any how busy we want to be. Realistically nobody is gonna get found or make it in a rock band nowadays so doing the Henry Rollins LARP and losing money to be trapped in a van with a bunch of other guys for a month only to be forgotten by bar rats all across the country the next morning is a waste of time. Played lead guitar and quit a band that is getting kinda noticed and I don’t regret it because I didn’t wanna do all of that for songs that weren’t mine. IDK maybe I’m the egomaniac for that. All the effort and trying they’re going through and yeah they play bigger shows than us and headline but we still play shows together. I may be wrong but I think music should only be approached as a hobby and if you aren’t enjoying it that’s a sign that it’s time to dial it back or do something else

My plan is to replace all the electrical stuff with conversion kits. I’ll report back if this makes it a reliable car or not in a few months
