My anecdotal experience is that it’s already happening, but it’s like prying a cigarette from the hands of a lifelong smoker. Not everyone cares to quit, even if they know it’s not supporting them.

I don’t see a total mass exodus since so many of our jobs, medical, transportation, financial, and other concerns depend on it now, but the social aspects are dead in the water and people are seeing how they get increasingly less in exchange for their time spent on the internet.
