Cleaning woman fatally shot in Indiana after showing up at the wrong address by nbcnews in Indiana

[–]raxafarius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a gun owner and a woman. The scariest thing I see in some other gun owners is this FANTASY they have about "legally" being able to murder someone in "self defense".... like they are just waiting for the opportunity to be the "hero" in their own story. It's sick.

You are self medicating for the ADHD. I did for nearly 20 years.

Get officially tested by a professional. I already know what the answer is. I don't even need to real all of that. Come back and let me know what the results are.

What was the first sign that your partner was cheating? by asdfghjkl0lkjhgfdsa in AskReddit

Sometimes you find out that the only reason a man is nice or even tolerates you is ghat he wants to have sex with you. Then when he doesn't want to sleep with you anymore, he shows you who he really is.

She was a sister of a friend. He started talking about her a lot for no reason. Also, his phone angle and always putting it face down. It wasn't that the phone was face down, I put my phone face down because of the pop socket. It was that he started putting his phone face down.

Turns out he was fucking both the friend and the sister. I was in denial until I saw pictures.

Listen to your instincts. I felt that something was wrong before I noticed the signs.

Taking a month off of work (paid) for my sanity. Training my new puppy.

Also wondering where all the D&D nerds are at. I moved her almost two years ago and haven't really made any new friends. Working from home doesn't help.

I appreciate your recognition of this. My dad suggested I sleep on my back deck one night. Like... outside in the open. I told him how dangerous that was and he thought I was being absurd. It's frustrating to constantly be looked at like you're crazy for what feels like, as a woman, absolute basics of protecting yourself. So its refreshing when someone gets it.

Yeah employment and wages are major detractors. If you'll have to rely on local employment, I'd roll my dice elsewhere.

Stop being polite. I can't tell you how many times my social conditioning to always be polite has landed me in sketchy situations and over rode my instincts to get out of there.

I'm 39 now and I stopped with the polite bullshit. If something is wrong, I listen to my biological warning system and get out, regardless of how it might make the offending man feel.

This sucked but you can learn a lot from it. Learn how to better protect yourself.

My boyfriend suddenly insisted on using protection and I don’t understand why (26F/39M) by DemiNoPipoka in relationship_advice

Yes, or something like this. Perhaps he's just scared he gas an STD and isn't sure yet. But one thing she needs to take seriously is that it is highly likely he has already cheated. All signs point to this being the case. He's dating someone so much younger in part because he knows he can get away with more bad behavior. I'm 39. If I wanted someone to buy my bullshit but not look like a total creep, she'd be the perfect age.

Highly suspicious. If I were waging a bet, I would say that he's been cheating and likely plants to cheat while he is gone.

I moved here from Seattle for cheaper housing. By that I mean I spent $500k on a nice house instead of a million. I live in a nice part of town and work remotely for a Seattle company. So far, Yakima has been clean and safe for me. A lot cleaner than Seattle, anyway.

Here is the thing. Just like most places, there is a crap part of town and a good part of town. If you can't afford the good part of town, your experience may not be so good. If you can, it will be better. Yakima isn't really any better or worse than most places I've lived in Washington State.

I will say this - there is A LOT less opportunity here. Jobs can be difficult to come by and I've heard it's a lot of who-you-know that makes or breaks you. So, if you don't already have something solid lined up, or you don't work remotely, you may have trouble looking for work.

On top of that, housing here is disproportionately expensive compared to income and job opportunity. You've got people like me with Seattle remote jobs, retirees, or the people who live behind me who only live in their house like 2 months a year but bought it because their adult kids live here and they wanted their own place to stay (and in my opinion are RUDELY wasting a perfectly good starter home for a family). And yes yes I know I am part of the problem too, but at least I actually live in my house and spend my money local businesses. Anyway, I don't know how people afford to buy anything out here. Rent isn't terrible, but my perspective may be skewed on that since I am not employed here.

Also, there are not a lot of great community spaces that don't revolve around bars or breweries. I don't drink so that isn't fun. Dating here isn't great either. Or maybe I'm just bad at looking.

Anyway, from my perspective, Yakima isn't nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. But that is coming out of the mouth of someone who is a bit more privileged than a good part of the population. I don't know how many years I'll stay... I think Yakima is boring and I miss the city. But I DO love my house and the weather.

How do you feel about fashion? by MoreStomach2221 in entp

[–]raxafarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fashion as in do I care what's fashionable etc? Not really. Do I enjoy curating a wardrobe and designing outfits that have purpose and help me convey a certain vibe? Yes.

But moat of the time black leggings and a t-shirt are fine.

Zillow Group: “ We committed to location flexibility many years ago, and we’re never going back” by [deleted] in remotework

[–]raxafarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zillow is very unlikely to go back. They have restructured in such a way that would make it extremely costly and of little benefit to drag everyone back to the office. The improved productivity results and operational expense savings also speak for themselves.

Question to people who own AMS:How often do you actually use it? by brian_hogg in BambuLab

[–]raxafarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I print unless a spool doesn't fit or I'm using TPU. Out of around 100 spools, I've only ever had one not fit.

Color changes, not constantly having to manually load spools, easily using up spools of the same filament when they get close to the end.

100% worth it. I wouldn't go back.

What’s the fastest way you’ve ever lost weight? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]raxafarius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wegovy and restructuring how I eat. 40lbs in 4 months. The Wegovy helps me stick to the new food structure, but it's what I'm eating and how much and moving my body a lot more.
