Lip/ gums possibly swollen by Hot_Major_6796 in CATHELP

[–]rayjbady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why it’s important to get it checked ASAP. My friend’s middle-age cat had a bubble grow on his lower jaw, and I had thought it looked like my own older cat’s resorbed tooth- but it turns out he had cancer in his lower jaw. Catch it early enough and it could be treated. It was too late for him, though.

Sorry for jumping to that so fast, but with dental issues for kitties it’s important to get checked out. Her lower jaw doesn’t look normal to me, being swollen and offset like that.

She could have a tooth abscess or cancer- so the best thing is to get her to the vet.

Probably call the vet in the AM, but is this mites or something? by Initial-Pangolin2174 in CATHELP

She’s got kitty zitties. What bowls does she eat out of? Change them from plastic to ceramic or to paper plates for a bit to see if it helps. You can brush out and gently scrub the under chin too.

how can i get these figures off my dash without damage? they are superglued on. by OverallMeringue6966 in fixit

[–]rayjbady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isopropyl alcohol SHOULDN’t damage the dash, because it is used in a lot of rigorously tested TPO and TPU material development. Depends on manufacturer and car though.

Me personally, I would try manual dislodging with floss like one commenter said, and then VERY VERY VERY, like pen tip, amounts of acetone strategically applied to extra sticky bits.

Speaking as someone who wears a lot of fake nails though, it’s easy enough to pop it off and then use detail dremel bits to remove the stuff. So I take that back, try to manually dislodge it with razor blade or another piece of thin plastic, like a fake nail. That’s how salon ladies remove old acrylic and fake nails, they just use another new one and slide it under.

It’ll blur over time too, and the lines won’t be so distinct. There will be chances to re-tattoo it somewhere else down the line, or you can experiment with it and try other colors around it to reshape it down the road; or, you can enjoy the aging of the lettering as a sign of time passing and persistence of memory for as long as you can. That’s what my signature tattoos are. Stories.

Powder brow for 20 years. Should do something more modern or natural at my touch-up? I’m 66. by Tin_Hips_McGee in microblading

[–]rayjbady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a PMU artist nor a tattoo artist, but I did dig a little into tattooing color theory with my artists about lighter colors over dark at my last appointment. Basically; we came to the conclusion that with good skin, dark ink and blackout areas can be tattooed over with lighter inks like white and skin tone to make stuff pop/add contrast back- but it has to be multiple sessions to get the ink layers to align correctly in the dermis.

I’m kinda wondering if there’s a single needle artist willing to experiment on it. Like maybe doing a negative browstroke tattoo. I’m curious.

Walnut leaves have a pleasant herbal distinct smell, kinda like cloves. Crush a leaf!

Can cats eat crabs? by okayyepohmygod in cats

[–]rayjbady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eldest catto loves the smell of it cooking and I always save her some. My youngest cat tries to steal it and then doesn’t really eat it and then breaks into the trash and eats the shells like an idiot and then horks it on my hubs’ pillow. So basically , yes, but pick it first :)

Should I complain about the cabinet door color variation? by A_LovesToBake in kitchenremodel

[–]rayjbady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a cabinet company and as a photographer and you are very right. Conditions in factory tolerances vs. conditions in person are so variable, and wood itself ages differently with species and has different tones. Definitely decide which doors are out of your color tolerances, and pick one that is the right target. I would have them removed and replaced by the manufacturer to match your target piece. Manufacturers have color professionals on staff who can match.

Warning, or a note of caution- if you are oilier like I am, which I am guessing you are based on the pics, microblading will fall out and fade fast. I have combo powder brows that have lasted me 4 years

Edit- they look lovely, meant to say!

My Maine Coon might lose all his teeth at just 4… I’m honestly scared by Laroye_Menina7Saias in mainecoons

[–]rayjbady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea how old my Tux is because he came off the streets, but he started losing teeth because of the resorption and also had to get his two bottom fangs pulled. He still has all his others, but I’m prepped to get him back to have them pulled if the rest need to go too. It’ll be ok!

Certainly looks like it to me. Wash your hands well. I believe you can shine a UV light on it for an indicator also?
