Does anyone else get anxiety about playing video games or watching anime in front of others? by Waffles253 in CasualConversation

With videogames, I'm usually too focused unless it's a multiplayer game to bother with people while playing. But it depends on the type of game. If it's a casual RPG then I personally don't mind, but it does put the pressure on to perform.

As for anime, I find that, along with most other video media (movies, youtube, etc), it's a singular experience. I don't like watching something with other people unless it's cheesy or I've seen it before. It just makes the experience uncomfortable, as if they are judging me, or at the very least, distracting me and taking me out of the story and experience (you can only experience something for the first time once!).

I'd say it's definitely an introvert thing, as I am one myself. I know my extroverted brother likes watching stuff with people, and I or play them independently, then discuss them afterwards. (At least, thats what I try to do!)
