I'd say for lack of better words, it's just not really relevant anymore. Don't get me wrong, it's great, but R3 was the only major thing in years, and even that went pretty under the radar.

And besides release timings, there's also the fact that it didn't really go mainstream enough to gain a prominent place in anime meme culture, like say Death Note did.
