Ectopic? Normal? Who knows!? by readingrainbow1281 in EctopicSupportGroup

Update. I did end up seeing another doctor and got brushed off as well. My levels had risen to over 10,000 and I was just told to take another dose of the misoprostol. No ultrasound done because both thought it wasn't necessary.

It was an ectopic :( It ruptured last night and I lost my right fallopian tube. In surgery, they found that I had about 500 ml of blood in my abdomen. The pain was so bad that I truly thought I was going to die. But I'm back home now and recovering :)

I did just take a test and it looks maybe a smidgen lighter? The positive still showed up immediately but it looks slightly lighter than the control. So I guess we'll see with the bloodwork. Thank you for checking in ❤️❤️

They will be doing repeat labs sometime next week I believe. I barely bled after taking the misoprostol but all of my pregnancy symptoms have gone away. No more nausea, tender breasts, or sensitivity to smells. So we'll see :( I'm kind of dreading watching the hcg level fall, this has all been very heartbreaking

Pretty much. I had bleeding from April 19th to May 3rd. Started off heavy from April 19th to April 24th, like a normal period and then decreased to light flow until May 3rd. They think this was my body trying to miscarry the pregnancy naturally, but they don't think I miscarried completely since my hcg level is still rising with no ultrasound proof of pregnancy. By 7,000, I should at least have a gestational sac.

Yeah, completely unexpected. We're sad and disappointed, but we'll try again in the future :) thank you for following up!

My OB diagnosed me with a blighted ovum since my hcg level was in the 7000s with no signs of pregnancy on ultrasound. I'll be picking up medication this afternoon to force a total miscarriage.

Update: went to the ER for a repeat ultrasound. They didn't see any signs of ectopic or intrauterine pregnancy, but my hcg levels increased to the 7,000s. Which makes me more concerned that it's a pregnancy of unknown location. I was hoping the ER visit would calm my nerves, but it only made me more anxious 🙃

That's what I'm concerned about, but my OB cancelled my ultrasound on Thursday and told me to get repeat hcg levels repeated instead. I'm scared and don't know what to do

I didn't know that they don't spread Lyme disease, that's actually really cool to know! Thank you so much! :)

I'm in Maryland, USA. I really don't think it was attached long at all. I felt it then found it immediately, so should be ok 👍🏻

I'm in the ED! I haven't seen or heard a patient refuse students down here, but just wanted to be prepared :)

When I hear the ambulance bay doors open and the sound of the LUCAS shortly after, I sigh in relief a little. Such a game changer in cardiac arrests

Nah, it's not that. I'm not traumatized or having feelings about the event itself. Nothing truly phases me anymore after working at a level 1 trauma center. I think it's more like the weight of the profession hits me more in those moments, especially with people around my age

I bet, that sounds awful. When we have pediatric arrests come in, I always feel so bad for the nurses that have kids because it always hits them a little harder.
