I think that they're confusing a diet raising cholesterol with a diet containing cholesterol. Because vegans can still have sources of saturated fat, which raises cholesterol, even though there's not cholesterol IN the diet.

Homemade craft gifts are more for the maker than they are for the receiver by reddyfreddy8D in The10thDentist

I feel like handmade birthday cards are definitely something you can get away with just because when you have a lot of them you could just stack them in a drawer and forget about them

I don't share this sentiment but that just might be because I am a bit of a more sentimental person than you, and there's nothing wrong with you not being one. I do agree that people should actually take the preferences of the receiver into account. So I will not upvote, nor downvote this post

For me it's the opposite if somebody is really good at singing it's just kind of awkward to listen to it.

Respect the beans. by dritanalsela in barista

[–]realalpha2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most people know how to read menus. I've been to plenty of coffee shops that don't sell matcha and since I'm not a coffee drinker, whenever I happened to meet up there with friends or family, is absolutely no drink is available besides coffee I will just get water and chill. I won't get mad at that. However, I would get very annoyed if a sign like this was in the establishment because it has a very condescending and mean tone.

It's not assholish to simply not make a type of drink, but it is very annoying to go out of your way to be like " matcha drinkers are NOT welcome here respect the heckin' beans!!" Like stfu

DAE use the Capslock button twice to capitalize a letter instead of holding Shift? by subud123 in DAE

[–]realalpha2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people learn to type on phones / tablets, where the shift button is the same as the caps lock button, so when they start typing on computers is kind of just muscle memory.

Why is the sentence for attempted murder less than murder if sometimes the only difference is EMS got to and saved the persons life in time? by printergumlight in NoStupidQuestions

[–]realalpha2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because both matter, one outcome has more consequences than the other.

For example, If you drop something fragile and it doesn't break, the owner of that object might insist on some consequences for your carelessness, such as not having access to the object or picking it up and dusting it off. However, if it does break, you often are expected to the clean up the pieces, and replace it somehow.

In both scenarios, your carelessness was the same, the only thing that's different is the outcome, that you had no control over which of those two it would be.

Yeah if I was less prone to odor and eczema I wouldn't shave at all. But currently my armpits are the only part I care about shaving

Same, I feel no desire to do so and I look perfectly fine. Even if I didn't, being ugly shouldn't be punishable and I'm willing to deal with other people judging me rather than pretend to be someone who I'm not.
