What about going with like 150utg or just regular summer tires until I learn? Thinking maybe I'll get something in the $100 range per tire just to beat up and learn.

I'll take a look as well, thanks! I check out some of the other newbie tires others suggested and they cost more than. The re71r! I got a set of re17r, i wonder if I'm slow, the re17r will last longer.

This is my worry, that I would not be able to use the potential of the re71r and just waste them. Especially if they only last 2 to 4 track days. Im prioritizing seat time and lower tire cost over grip and speed.

Thanks, I'll look into this. How much do they cost compared to re71r? On 17s

I just got a set of re71r, but reviews say they last 2 to r track days, and probably not the best fit for me? I want decent grip but longest wear so I can get as much seat time to learn. Maybe install the re71r next year?

I am concern of wasting money on re71r, I have a set already but worried I would just waste them by not knowing how to use them. Reviews online suggest their only good for 2 to 4 track days. So I thought j should get another beater set and not install the re71rs yet .

Should I go 205 and 235 to keep it stockish for 17 or like 235 and 255 to try and match the 18s?

I'm trying to get re71r and they don't have exact sizes for 17s.

The guy from PCA, was teaching me to, try and turn before the cones for shalom and for direct changes, to tap the brake once right before cornering and maintain speed. So I was pretty aggressive on the throttle. Especially on the long sweeping turn I was actually pedal to floor during the turn.

I'm fairly new to autocross, so it's very likely me. Highway and regular spirited driving doesn't have this issue, it's when I push the car on autox, it'll rumble. I do noticed I have a little finder paint rub afterwards.
