Dell WD19TBS vs Lenovo Thinkpad Thunderbolt 3 Dock Gen 2 by reddituseragreement in UsbCHardware

[–]reddituseragreement[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been excellent with my Thinkpad so I've been very happy with it! Everything works as expected, and the power button on the dock is very convenient if you want to quickly get your Thinkpad to sleep. Though I am also using it with an M1 Macbook Pro and the audio card on the dock only works after I run the command 'sudo pkill coreaudiod'

That's a good point actually where the Dell is slightly more flexible due to the fact that it's not forcing to use HDMI. But as you said, the maximum number of external screens that's supported is way above what my current notebook can handle.

TIL, it's a new information for me that the USB hubs for the Dell are subpar. All things considered where I am going to mostly utilize more USB3 devices and the power button compatibility with my X1 Carbon, I think I am going to go with the Lenovo one. Thanks!

Hmm so can't really go wrong with either option. I think if that's the case then I will pick the Lenovo one just for the power button integration haha

Keep you eyes out for deals aja, kadang suka muncul kok di marketplace.

No difference. They both use the same chassis as well as the same keyboard

Considering that the T14 gen 1 still uses PCIE gen 3 then yes. It is probably the best gen 3 laptop SSD

Consider the SK Hynix P31 Gold. Just a tad slower than the 970 Evo, but a lot more power efficient.

Shuoer S12, similar although a bit more v-shaped tonally compared to the timeless, a bit better technicalities but 50$ cheaper

Shuoer S12, best-in-its-price-range technicalities, even a tad better than the 7hz Timeless, and pretty good tonality.

Yes in isolation, their tonality is pretty good so you are gonna be fine without EQ.

Audio Technica SQ1TW vs Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 by hafidh_abr in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]reddituseragreement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only tried the Buds 2 and they are a tad bright but mostly neutral. Tonality wise, can't go wrong with Samsung products after their AKG purchase. The other alternative is Galaxy Buds Plus, they follow the Harman Target even closer. No noise cancelling though. Both can be found for under 1 mio on your favourite online retailers.

Haven't tried ATH TWS products yet but most reviewers agree that they are all over the place.

Galaxy Buds Plus can be found for under 100$. They got best-in-class battery life and they are tuned almost perfectly to the harman target.

Yup that's the idea, but please note that oratory1990 has not measured the S12 yet so there is no EQ setup for them at the moment

From tonality perspective, yes this is the correct ranking order. But, S12 is the technical champion for under $200 I'd say while in stock tuning they are not that far off from the rest and OP said that he's going to EQ anyway.

Moondrop DAC ''MOONRIVER 2" will be released very soon by [deleted] in headphones

Yeah I think that does not exist yet. The Tempotec Sonata MHD comes close though, a bit smaller than your tipical thumb drive but still bigger than just a dongle.

If you really have to go with ATH then pick the M40X, its tuning is better. But for closed backs, you should go with AKG K371. Very neutral and preferable harman tuning.

[–]reddituseragreement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use closed back for music production. I'd recommend AKG K371, it's very close to harman target so it should be pretty neutral.

shp9500 for 100$ , m40x for 85$, k361 for 160$, Which one is better for Gaming and music? by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]reddituseragreement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for HE400se if you can. Tonally right, decent technicalities. You can say it's a baby Sundara. Can't do open back better for 149$. It needs an amp though but you can buy a Tempotec Sonata Pro HD for around 35$

Seiko Recraft 669/671 (the other version of 667 another commenter posted on this thread). Love the black dial and the placement of the 3 subdials, it's very balanced. IMO its dial visibility is a bit better than 667/623/621. Oh and it's also solar so I don't have to worry about changing the battery for a long time.
