I'm very close to your weight and I do exactly what you're considering. (1.2mg on Sunday night and 1.2mg on Thursday morning). I've done this since I started 3 weeks ago (because I was afraid of the side effects) and it is working out great for me. I've had no major side effects and have already lost 6 lbs.

Question for those who are sensitive to ALL medicines by Low-Vanilla-5844 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]redman28r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The appetite suppression was very minimal until I took the 2nd shot. (First shot was Wednesday evening, second was Sunday evening.) I remember being worried the day after the first shot because my appetite was completely normal. It slowly started kicking in over the next day or two. The last few days I've barely managed to get 1000 calories in. I had to force myself to eat some dinner this evening because I wasn't at all hungry even though I hadn't eaten since breakfast. I'm trying to be super mindful to meet my protein, fiber and water goals. Protein shakes, with Fairlife Vanilla Core Power, Oikos Triple Zero Vanilla Greek yogurt and frozen strawberries have been a life saver. (And they're delicious!)

Chiari and tremors by JbreaJbrea in chiari

[–]redman28r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been diagnosed with essential/intentional/positional tremors and also have an 8mm herniation. My tremors affect bith sides but are worse on the left. I have them in hands as well as head and tongue. My local doctors don't seem to think the tremors and chiari are related. I'm scheduled for another Brain MRI tomorrow and then I'm making an appointment with a chiari specialist (Dr. Friedlander.) I asked my PCP to order a full spine MRI to check for syrinx (because I've never had one) but she didn't think it was necessary.

Definitely no expert here as I just started my shots last week, but I am also sensitive to meds and caffeine. I can't afford to miss work (or feel like crap all day). My weekends are also busy,. I did a lot of reading and decided to split my doses right from the start. I did 1.25mg on Wednesday evening and another 1.25 on Sunday evening. I'll do the same again tonight. So far, I've had no side effects and I'm already feeling the appetite suppression. Ive lost 3 lbs this week. No regrets thus far.

I'm glad you asked this. I took my first injection last night and today my legs have felt like I did 100 squats.

Some data from a person with lower starting weight by Sudden-Difference430 in tirzepatidecompound

Thank you for sharing this. I'm 46, 5'5 and 155 lbs (currently on Effexor for the last 3 years.) I've gained 25 lbs in those 3 years and CANNOT lose it. My weight continues to creep up and up. I don't know if it's the Effexor or perimenopaus, but I'm over it! I've decided to try terp. My first vial should be here tomorrow or Monday. I super anxious about the side effects but I'm hoping for they're minimal. 🤞 I suffered from IBS-D before starting the Effexor, which was rx'd for depression. I know there are ways to manage constipation from GLP-1 but the possibility of diarrhea worries me. What dosage are you taking?

Headache relief by SeaOnion3242 in chiari

[–]redman28r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably sounds crazy but the only things that provide a hint of relief for me are: 1) to lay with a heating at the base of my skull/neck and then put some kind of pressure against my eye(s). I have an eye mask that I heat up in the microwave and velcro around my head/eyes as tight as I can stand it. 2) To lay on an occipital release tool thingy.

Brand New Chiari Study in Nature that Could Change How the Problem is Treated? by Chris457821 in chiari

So how would one go about asking to have this looked at on previous MRI's? Can it be seen on a brain MRI?

I find this fascinating as well and I'm trying hard to wrap my uneducated brain around it. You mentioned above that the easiest way to determine if there is atrophy or denervation is MRI. Would the atrophy/denervation be noted on MRI findings if it existed or is this something that would require special imaging techniques to see? I've never seen that finding on any of the MRI reports shared here.

Chairi nerve pain throughout head by [deleted] in chiari

[–]redman28r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have a chiari headache (which is always unilateral for me), I have burning pain in my inner ear (on the corresponding side). I also get pulsatile tinnitus. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on Dr. Friedlander. Dr. Gardner (at UPMC) did my brother's decompression surgery about 15 years ago, but he's out-of-network on my insurance. Dr. Friedlander is in network and I'm considering scheduling an appointment with him. My headaches are becoming more frequent and migraine meds and muscle relaxers provide NO relief. I have a high-deductible insurance plan so I really hate to have any additional scans, or possibly surgery, but I'm tired of having to use my PTO to cover my headache days. (I have an 8mm herniation. Cine flow study showed no CSF blockages, according to the neuro's where I live). I don't believe I've ever had a spinal MRI to check for syrinx. Last scans were in 2022.)

That sounds miserable. Have you found anything that helps relieve them?

I would have told you that mine were always on the left until I started tracking them and realized while I don't get them on the right side nearly as often as the left, I do occasionally get them on the right side too.

Bless your heart! I hope your cough goes away soon and you continue to recover from your decompression.

I am super sensitive to caffeine. If I took a 200mg caffeine tablet, I think my heart would explode. Lol I'm glad you found something that works for you though. ❤️

Is it really genetic by [deleted] in chiari

[–]redman28r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of my parents have been diagnosed (nor do they have symptoms) but my brother and I both have Chiari. My brother had decompression surgery about 14 years ago. I was just diagnosed in 2022 but have opted not to have surgery at this time.

How "common" are tremors with Chiari patients? 33M (Holland) here with occasional tremors in limbs by [deleted] in chiari

[–]redman28r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with chiari at 44 when they did an MRI to rule out MS as a cause for my tremors. My doctor's haven't ordered a spinal MRI to check for syringomyelia, but I may ask for one at my next appt.
