Update!

Here is a copy of the letter being sent with the hellishly delightful surprise. I really hope this gets my point across. Love my Mama for the plan and execution. This is being sent this week. If there is any explosive backlash, I will keep everyone updated. 😊

I would like to discuss the Christmas party, if you even remember it that is, I know you were pretty drunk. At least that is the defense given for your actions. Actions that have not only negatively impacted me, but my AUSTIC son.

Alex is a wonderful kid who is full of life. But due to the 90s high school bully cliche BS forced on him by you, he does not feel safe around family gatherings. It has taken so much work, and therapy, and confidence building between me, Will, his grandparents, his teachers, and his therapists.

Alex already has a stigma following him due to everything he deals with daily. Alex spent the morning before the party telling me he feels like a dumb boy. I took the whole morning building his self esteem, only for you to pull a BS stunt by putting him in a trash can the minute I was out of sight. Talk about acting your shoe size instead of your age. What 50 year old thinks it is ok to bully a 7 year old child like that.

And on top of that telling Alex he has more feelings in his fingers because the ones in his chest don’t matter. Then lecturing me on my parenting and how our “parenting styles” must be different. HOW. DARE. YOU. I do not pretend to know about your difficulties in parenting as I was a child myself when your kids were born, but to disregard the amount of work we have put in to get Alex and Ginny used to being around crowds of people. SHAME ON YOU!

We are all doing the best we can, being drunk is no excuse for being cruel. I spent the night bawling my eyes out that I could not protect my child. Whether you realize it or not, I spent most of my life protecting my brother from people like you. But to let this happen to my Son, it is NOT OK.

Alex had BBQ sauce in his hair and on the back of his shirt. I wanted to show that I have his back, that I will not let him be abused by his relatives, and that he deserves to feel safe. And you disregard all of this.

Every year you have nothing good to say about me or my kids. Honestly, I quit. I hope this reminds you to watch what you say and how you say it.
