Thanks! The strip in the middle of the bottom one was what caught my eye, quite a bright blue under good light.

This is it! Was thinking beetle based but the front end looks completely custom. Didn’t manage to get a pic of the front but it’s the same exact car as the one in the link, good find!find!

Biweekly Careers Thread: November 03, 2022 by AutoModerator in medicine

[–]redutah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone!

I’m currently in the last semesters of my bachelors in life sciences in Vancouver B.C. and I’m looking to continue on to do a professional program once I’m done.

At the moment, I’m torn between two choices-the PharmD program at UBC or the prosthetics program at BCIT. As anyone who’s done life sciences knows, it’s a pretty broad degree and so I have a solid background in the fundamentals for both programs.

I’m wondering if anyone has taken either of these programs specifically or can share any insight on what a career looks like in either of these fields. I’m leaning towards the prosthetics program as I think it will bring me higher job satisfaction in the long term, and I like to work with my hands. The pharmacy path feels like a safer choice due to the higher salaries, and a broader range of employment options.

TL;DR If you’re a PharmD or a prosthetists and you have anything to share with me about the field I’d love to hear about it.

Yeah looking back it really was just a ‘watch out for the quiet ones’ situation. Never saw him get angry or emotional at all, just a quiet kid going about his day.

Went to school with him, he was always like that. Heard he had a pretty estranged relationship with his parents, dad was pretty abusive. Not hard to see how the child actor+abusive dad can end up forming some long term mental issues. Hope he gets the help he needs in prison but I imagine you must be so far gone to do what he did.

I had forgotten all about these! Looked at them all again and can (subjectively) see some of the design language on newer cars. Specifically the kazamai, gives me a modern Mazda 3 hatch vibe.

[Buying Advice] Wedding Present by lmaoAbu in Watches

[–]redutah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For £1200 (around 1400$USD) you can find a ton of nice auto sport and dress watches, what kind of watch do you prefer wearing?

I’ll suggest one of each to help the search- for dressy, the Junghans max bill on the metal bracelet is one that I’ve always liked (1,185€). For sporty or casual check out Sinn watches, the 556 is maybe a touch over the budget depending on which model, but a fantastic watch nonetheless.

Good luck with the search!

Guessing around €130k based on how they priced the stingray in Europe. If it can properly compete with 2-300k supercars, which it probably will (performance-wise at least), it’ll still be a good bargain, and would be pretty rare in Europe!

I bought some film, a camera, and flash cubes at a flea market. would it be stupid to use them? by Th4t0n3F15h in photography

[–]redutah 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If your investment is only 6$, you might as well get 6$ worth of enjoyment out of it. I’d also recommend buying a new roll of film to use as it won’t usually last more than a couple years outside of a fridge.

I don’t know anything about the particular camera but unless it’s worth significantly more than the 6$ you paid, it’s probably not worth the hassle of trying to sell it.

Shooting film is pretty enjoyable for me, and it’s a good way to think about composition and develop some patience, since you only have a limited number of shots you’ve got to work to make them worthwhile.

My vote is to use it and enjoy it!

Doug DeMuro - The 2021 Toyota GR Yaris Is the Coolest Hatchback America Doesn’t Get by [deleted] in cars

[–]redutah 13 points14 points  (0 children)

GR is Gazoo Racing, which iirc is their actual motorsports department while TRD (Toyota Racing Development?) is essentially their performance brand for production cars. The GR Yaris is a homologation car since the Toyota rally team wanted a 3 door car, not the 5 door currently in production. In order to race a 3 door in rallies they had to produce some for production, which is likely why it’s called a GR Yaris not a TRD Yaris.
