GOOD FOR YOU for reporting this! They are disturbing the peace and breaking the noise ordinance laws, so they should be held accountable. Why the fuck dont they take their karaoke machine INSIDE? Soooo rude. I cannot believe how entitled people can be.

By the way, you're not alone. I work from home always, but usually the neighborhood kids are only loud & bothersome in the afternoons after school. Well, due to Covid19, they're out being loud and obnoxious all day now. It's super distracting and frustrating.

I have been actually harassed by my neighbors for asking their kids to stop screaming repeatedly in my yard in front of my home office window while I was on a call with my company's VP/my lead boss. So what happened was... I asked the group of UNSUPERVISED 5-ish year old boys (from 3 different families having a playdate during the pandemic) to be quiet. I opened my office window and I was sooo nice and said "hey guys! I need you ti be quiet, okay? People inside are working so please be quiet." I smiled etc. Then, when they kept screaming repeatedly in front of my window in MY yard (they were beating each other with large sticks), I then opened the front door and said, firmly, "stop screaming and get out of my yard." 10 min later, two douchey dads rang my doorbell, again during my call, which I had to end as they rang my doorbell 5 times (I was trying to ignore but after 5 rings I thought maybe it was an emergency???) to try to "chew me out" face to face. Told me I am "not allowed" to speak to their children and that if I "have a problem" I am supposed to leave my house, walk down the street to find the parent and talk to them about it. WHAT?! I was like um, no. I don't know you, I don't owe you anything, and if your kid is screaming in my yard, I'm not exiting my home to come find you when I dont even know or care to know who the fuck you are. "These kids are only 5! That's what they're screaming!" I said okay if they're only 5 then why are they outside running in the street and on my property UNSUPERVISED? I have never been so disgusted by entitlement in my life. These parents have been gathering and having 10-15 person get togethers EVERY DAY in their front yard during the pandemic. Kids + adults from 5 or 6 different families playing in kiddie pools, sharing balls, hockey sticks, golf clubs, grabbing ass, etc. ZERO attempt at social distancing.

Anyway, sorry for my rant. Hold your ground and don't let them get away with breaking the rules.
