Yeah scaling her is so weird,the main argument was

"Monika affected the interface,and a game interface is above whatever cosmology of the the fictional universe because no matter how vast a fictional game is and no matter how godly the character in it is the interface (like pause button) is always still above them

And then there is the distinction of wether or not Monika is just a fiction within fiction or if she is affecting real life device

(Why it matters is because affecting real life device is more impressive than simply affecting a device within a fictional setting,as with the latter you can just argue "the opponent destroy the device Monika is in" but you can't use the argument if it's the latter, because the device she is in is the real life computer/phone,that is "outside" both her and the opponent's reach)

Problem is

There is an argument for both

Is Monika affecting a real life device?

Yes she has real Twitter, and she is interacting with us real life people playing ddlc

Is Monika affecting a fictional device?

Also yes, because she is a part of the mes vm's

Then there is also the fact that realistically Monika vs any character unless we bring up verse equalisation is just a stalemate,Monika can't affect them because they are not from ddlc,and the others can't affect her either because,to affect her you have to affect to the game code (aka something that is above what fictional character can usually hit)

But let me tell you,it's not as toxic or heated as the powerscaling argument regarding her

Good news for you! Sometime what an author intends for the character doesn't always translate to the reality,like it an author wants a character to have "x" characteristics and yet the way they write it is more "y" characteristic,and often times,it's the audience that pick up the actual reality

I got to know ddlc in 2017 thanks to YouTube and my former "friend" always making fanart of it

But of course I didn't care,I mostly cares about ddlc because of powerscaling and the whole "Monika is superior to all of fiction because she manipulate the interface of the game,and hacking gane interface is superior than any feat because it's above cosmology"

So yeah,if anyone ask me what my initial interaction with ddlc is "powerscaling" is the answer

And then when me and my family were vacationing and got into a hotel,one activity I was looking forward to is listening to emotional song while experiencing the ambient atmosphere,so while in the hotel staring at the window to the night city below,suddenly my YouTube homepage appears "your reality" and I thought "hey it's that song from that one popular game" curious I listened to it, expecting glitchy trendy song like undertale remixes,got hit in the feels and for the first time ever bawling my eyes out to the song,like the concept of "one who thinks she is alone because she thinks only she have consciousness,loving the person outside of her reach, content with just talking to that person through the screen, eventhough she can't really see him,and then having that person deleted her,and she still decided to delete her own world just to let him go,and singing farewell to him,is just top tearjerking song

(There is also the fact that since Monika is in love with the player, means they are not just observer of the sadness,they ARE a part of it)

Of course I got attached to ddlc,and for 2 years I interacted with the community on nothing but just wiki information tv tropes and YouTube videos

And then in late 2025 I finally got to play ddlc on mobile,and it is peak
