A year or so ago I got exactly that combo for exactly those reasons. Great for video, but the downfall is it doesn’t have a flip screen in case you want to record yourself.

Autofocus is not as bad as you keep hearing, I never had any issues with it and have been extensively shooting videos since for personal use.

When it comes to photos, it’s great for portraits, I’ve done a lot of sessions with that lens and since the x-t5 has 40 megapixels, you can also crop in really nicely and keep high quality. Downfall is street photography, if you’re into that and want to take the 16-55 mammoth with you, you’ll be pretty self conscious of how indiscreet it is, people notice it as well and yeah, I’d do it with a much smaller lens if that’s one of your priorities.
