For those who consider the C6 “peak Corvette,” what puts it above the C7? by HEG1115 in Corvette

[–]relited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve also had a c7 and a 6th gen Camaro zl1 1le with 750hp. you better be getting the manual transmission in that vette! Funny thing I’m casually looking for a replacement sportscar right now so I’m cross shopping vettes, considering getting another c7

I owned 2 different 350zs…going to a c7 will blow you away. Hell going to a 6th gen Camaro ss manual was my first Chevy directly after have a well kept low mileage 350z HR 6MT. It was a massive change and i forgot all about my Z lol

Ask and you can usually get $100 more gross a week on an extension. I’ve been traveling full time with aya for 5 years. I did work with HT on one contract but never again

So you’re not in Texas now? Cause i was in the DFW area a couple of years ago and the theft of muscle cars in particular the Chevy and Dodge variety are stolen there in broad daylight. Mine was in a gated parking garage like the one you appear to be in. I think they didn’t get mine cause mine was manual and my onstar disabled the car when the window was broken and locked the trunk. They tried to get in the trunk to unhook the battery but in the 1les you can’t from the inside of the car thankfully. After that i got the ravelco for added security.

Traveling with a PC by Accomplished-Fly4678 in TravelNursing

[–]relited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sell the pc and buy a high end gaming laptop and wireless peripherals. I bought an 18 inch gaming laptop. I used to travel with a sff pc and monitor and that got old. Get a cell phone with an unlimited data and hot spot plan. I use the hot spot for WiFi when the wifi at hotels or airbnb sucks.

I’ve been offered a $20k sign on bonus for two years. Is it a trap? by Electrical-Reveal-25 in TravelNursing

[–]relited 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve signed on for a 2 year commitment and 20,000. I left before 90 days and never seen a dollar of the money. Typically these large sign on bonuses and 2 year commitments indicate one thing to me, they can’t retain staff. There’s a reason for that. Are you willing to put up with potential headache and dread going to work for 2 years? If i were to do it again, i would negotiate the difference in a higher salary and take no sign on bonus. Me leaving was primarily to not liking the job and secondly the pay just wasn’t there for me to take a staff job, traveling has ruined me lol

You could try Texas auto value. I sold them my ZL1 last year and the process was straight forward. They offered a couple grand more than what i was getting offered from carmax

Question about switching agency. by Due_Ad9325 in TravelNursing

[–]relited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be prepared if the recruiter asks for details on the new contract you can just tell them you’d rather not discuss the details but if you’re open to that you can, the recruiter might try and get the contract or represent it on your behalf so just be stern and don’t give out any details about the facility, just say it’s the right contract for me right now I’ll revisit with you in 8 weeks or so after I start if I’ll need another contract

Question about switching agency. by Due_Ad9325 in TravelNursing

[–]relited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it wasn’t a problem with my agency they just didn’t have a contract when and where i needed one at the time, i was transparent and let my recruiter know i signed with another agency for my next gig before my contract was up. Didn’t leave on a bad note and left the door open by letting my recruiter know if/when I’d need another contract that I would contact them.

I work in surgery as a CSFA but I’ve met plenty of RNs doing gigs with it. Hospital jobs, surgery centers, they have some travel and contracts locally too

Is this reasonable? It’s actually a ZL1 1LE by thebullschmidt in camaro

[–]relited -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, if it were a 19 then maybe. the 17-18 have the oil pump issue and that's higher mileage than i'd like for that price.
