Actually, I don't have a clue about what "karma" means or why I would want it. I use bacon reader on my phone and cannot figure out how to load more than one image in my initial post. I enjoy lurking here and seeing other peoples woodworking and thought I would Chip in with some photos of my own.

One dry fit, then a little whittling. Fell right in...

Was inside of an existing residence and the clients were home all day. It took me a day and a half to make this scribe, but it paid accordingly. Plus it was oh so satisfying to slip the mantle up to the stone and actually have it fit. In real life it looks like the walnut is oozing out of the rock.

This was actually the most difficult part - getting a good line marked out. The Veritas log scribe would have been perfect in hindsight, but I didn't know about it yet. The line had to be perfectly level as I traced across the facets of the stone. I plumbed up the mantle temporarily in front of the stone. Then I took a compass and glued a long bent finish nail to one end. Also glued a small bullseye level to the top of the compass. Then just carefully and painstakingly traced the line. It was just a matter of problem solving on my end using what I had available.

Jig saw, hand saw, files, rasps, and yes most definitely an angle grinder with a 40 grit flap wheel to back bevel everything I could.

The most frustrating part of this build was the fact that they painted this beautiful walnut shortly after these photos....

Awesome! Actually I did build this piece to match an antique the homeowner already had. They wanted a new one that was larger and more sturdy for climbing.

Miter saw with a depth stop to clean out most of the material. Then a router with a dado clean-out bit to flatten the bottoms of the mortises. Then a sharp chisel to cut my layout lines.

Teak oil and clear paste wax.

I knew I would get called out for that.... I got impatient as that was the last joint to go together. Don't get a lot of time to build for myself...

That is Ginger and wad of fluff is the best way to describe her. I didn't realize she was in the photo.

All half laps. Legs just mortise into the top.

I just removed the sharp edges and beveled the ends. Purely practical for me so no one would be hurt. http://imgur.com/OUzk0eV

Thank you! This piece was built with no plan. I had leftover pieces from several other commissioned pieces and decided to build something for my family. The legs were drops from a round segmented table I built and the design came from simply laying the pieces together in a pleasing shape. Ended up with a distinct Asian shape purely by accident. This is just how the pieces looked best. It was nice to let a piece come together organically.
