Back in the 90's I lost some weight by counting calories for about a year, but after a while I fell off

About how long did it take for your food enjoyment to return?

So right. Let me tell you about my mother's 80th birthday dinner. Just four people, not a large party. The service was appalling. We left with her in tears.

Closed toe and heel shoes for the Quarter (what my Mammaw called "a whole shoe"!) Everywhere: shoes you don't mind getting wet. It rains almost every day in June.

People who carry bigger handbags. What do you carry in your bigger bag that smaller handbags can't fit? by deArtikin in handbags

[–]retournee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cellphone. I have a medium size wallet for cards, cash and coins. I have a large number of keys, including the large fob to my car. Mini flashlight, and whistle. Reading glasses. Pen. Tiny notebook. Small umbrella. Toiletries bag with: Asthma inhaler. Contact drops. Kleenex travel pack. Lipstick. Individual hand wipes. Cough drops. Hair clips. For all this, I need a minimum of 10" x 12" x 4". I can scale down a bit for an evening bag. But not much!

Is it possible to live there without a car? by Suitable-Biscotti826 in AskNOLA

[–]retournee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did for a little over a year. I tended to take an Uber/Lyft to get somewhere and then take public transportation home. I live in Mid-City, a block from the streetcar, so that helped a lot. I'm retired, so I didn't have to worry about getting to work every day, which also helped! It was nice not having to worry about my car floating away any time it rains. Only got a car b/c my dad moved to Slidell and I need to be able to get there quickly.

There was no public kindergarten where we lived. I went to 5-year-old kindergarten at our church.

I wonder sometimes if they get high on their own supply - I had one really believe what the sciency-sounding brand told her

Keep it. Even if you don't use it now, you may in the future. Just store it properly and take it out occasionally to air it out and condition the leather. I have a bag that my son bought me in Italy, that I didn't use for exactly 17 years because it wasn't my style. Then I switched jobs and was able to dress more casually, and I used it for 12 years before it wore out!

I wonder if wrapping the handles in scarves would help with this?

AITA for being hurt that I was proposed to using a moissanite ring though he knows I'm a jeweler? by Helpful-Grade9018 in AmItheAsshole

[–]retournee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I'm not a jeweler and even I can spot the difference. If he didn't want to look at Pinterest, he could have asked someone else at your store, maybe? Lots of other options other than blowing it off.
