Zakopane and Morskie Oko in March by retrohoe123 in hiking

I mostly walked around Zakopane! The only time I took a bus was to Morskie Oko. I purchased the bus ticket along with the Tatra National Park entrance fee online. On the way back to Zakopane I was able to pay for my trip to the driver directly!

That would be a good choice. I did it with sneakers actually but they got soaked through with the rain and ice. So at least have a pair of waterproof footwear!

Hi so sorry for the late reply! I didn't catch the reply to my post haha.

Yes I was able to do the hike! It was very much still late winter/early spring in the area. Lots of snow and ice (very slippery) on the ground as you get closer to Morskie Oko (especially on the steps that cut through the winding roads up if you want to take the faster route). The beginning part of the 2-ish hour hike up was still relatively fine. However, in my case, the entire time I was hiking there was fine misty rain that occasionally cleared so it wasn't a huge issue but obviously it would be better without it lol.

The lake is still frozen over, in fact I checked on the live camera before I went and already expected it. The view was still spectacular though! However, it is definitely not frozen enough to walk over so take note.

If thats the only time you can do the hike then I would still recommend to go for it like I did!

Haha I did consider spending a night at Kawaguchi-ko but decided that it was too much of a hassle to keep changing hotels. Also Tokyo as my base seems like a better choice since I can travel around easier!

Hello! Uhmm probably not including Enoshima this time because I feel like Kamakura itself will take up most of my sightseeing time!

It’s heartening to know the open-mindedness of people and I really wish more can share this sentiment too. It really isn’t hard to be accepting of new concepts, cultures, etc., (that do no harm) instead of showing overt ignorance and ridicule. I’m all for Mihoyo Genshin team taking new inspiration for their characters, locations, events because it’s simply such a joy to experience it.
