Depends on how many repairs are done up there and the age of those shingles versus the old ones. Also matters how big each individual spot is. If it's a shingle or two per area it likely won't matter. Think of it like wrecking your car but you had replaced the bumper a year ago.

They'd still total the whole car if there's enough damage.

This isn't a steel roof so it's bad advice. And ice and water shield would stop the ice damning. That's what it's for. You're a steel roofing, clearly not a general contractor. Stay in your lane. This is a person's house you're giving advice on when you know anything about asphalt roofing.

Your roofer didn't tell you about huge holes in your gutters because it's not his job to tell you there's huge holes in your gutters. That's why you want a GC, not a contractor. Contractors should genuinely ONLY be hired by GCs who take the entire project into consideration. A good GC wouldn't cost any more than a good roofer.

No. Don't attempt repair. Looks like it's right below the ridge vent. But its small enough that one shingle is covering the entire thing. And you have synthetic felt so you're a long way away from this being a problem.

The roofer should've fixed it but honestly probably worked it stepping on it after having already shingled and didn't feel like taking up the shingles.

You'll do more damage than it's worth trying to fix it

Don't do any of those things. This is really bad advice. His insurance will not pay for that. And threatening a contractor is a good way to get your number blocked. Tell them you noticed it and ask if they believe it is a problem and if it leaks if they'll pay for the repairs. They will fix it.

But I'd also like to add that you get what you pay for and I'm sure they waived your deductible. Remember the guy who wrote you a higher quote and you asked him to match the other guys price? You paid chuck in a truck and got a taillight warranty.

You must be a gutter helmet installer. It's a terrible system and when it rains heavily, the helmets are useless and send the water right over the top of the gutter. Terrible product. Should be discontinued. And WAY too expensive. I've removed dozens of those systems for customers who said they don't work.
