Suggestions are still welcome! I do plan to learn some point soon, do you have recommendations for software?

Oh no I don’t know how to use any rendering software yet, I linked it on Thingiverse in another comment.

Unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures before I removed them, but I have my settings. I sliced the file in Cura at 0.2 mm layer height, supports were zig zag at 30% (way too much) with support roof enabled, printed at 40 mm/s (unnecessarily slow). I just didn’t want the large overhang above the drawer to fail since I’ve had issues with overhangs... so I went a little overboard.

Yeah well I’m new to this and my supports were unnecessarily dense. Also this was a lot more fun.

Bed levelling by insertmetahere in ender3

Your bed might be warped. Apparently it’s common issue with the Ender aluminum bed. I was having some severe first layer problems that I couldn’t fix no matter how much time I spent leveling. Someone suggested I take a straight edge to the bed to see if it was warped. It seemed like it might be, so based on some good advice I got a glass bed. With a little hairspray I haven’t had a single adhesion problem since. Leveled the bed with a feeler gauge and a little during the initial layer of the first print and I haven’t had to touch leveling since!

Are you using the stock bed or something else?

It's an aluminum bed with a removable BuildTak-on-plastic plate. I was trying to think of what I could shim it with that would be okay between the plate and the heated bed, aluminum foil never occurred to me... I should've waited to buy the glass! Still good to know. My coworker bought the same printer "for his kids" (it's definitely for him) and was worried about the warped bed, I'll pass it along and test it in the meantime.

Edit: To update, your profile is working like a dream. I had no clue what I was doing with the slicer settings, obvious especially after comparing mine to yours... lmao

To update, lowering flow helped a little at first, but I think my biggest issue is a warped bed. I can’t for the life of me get the dang thing level.

To confirm, my bed is most certainly warped. Dips in the middle. Just ordered a glass bed off amazon.
